Title: My Dizzy/HNB Review-4/14-Buffalo,NY & Pic w/Dizzy Post by: RancidPunx on April 21, 2008, 10:58:26 PM I saw Dizzy/Hookers N' Blow play tonight at a bar here in Buffalo,NY called Rock N Roll Heaven.
I would say there were maybe 75-100 people at the most but Dizzy played like he was in front of a Guns crowd. I am a huge GnR fan so I am not the most unbiased person but here is my review. Setlist: not exactly in order but this should be it pretty much. It's So Easy Pretty Tied Up Don't Cry 2nd part of Estranged. Ziggy Stardust Bad Obsession Dust N Bones SCOM Used To Love Her Patience You're Crazy Outro to Locomotive Sympathy For The Devil Anyway, the band is really good.Quiet Riot guitarist Alex Grossi, House of Lords/Quiet Riot bassist Chuck Wright, and Puddle of Mudd drummer Dave Moreno. Dizzy looked like he was playing to a 20,000 seat Guns audience instead of 75 people on a Monday Night in Buffalo,NY. Dizzy can sing and he hit a lot of the high notes as well. After the show Dizzy came out and signed and there were some hardcore Gunners who brought cans of Dr.Pepper for him to sign. For $7, you can't beat this. Well, I am sure some of you can think of better things to do with $7 but for a good rock show it was well worth it. Shout out to those hardcore kids who came up from New York to see the show. They were the ones who inducted Dizzy into their Frat last year (Cornell, maybe?) I wish Dizzy could swing GNR to play Estranged and Bad Obsession live. I would also like to hear Pretty Tied Up or Locomotive. They NEED more UYI songs. Also Sympathy for the Devil is a MAJOR plus.

That would be nice but until then everyone should check out Dizzy when they can, He sings really well, hits high notes, plays the guitar and of course rocks the fuck out on the keyboards. Of the Gn'R solo projects I have seen, I would put this show first, with Slash's Snakepit first album tour second and Tommy Stinson solo third. However, I heard they're gonna tour again in June, so hopefully we'll get a make up date. |
