Here Today... Gone To Hell!

I made a LP lamp, here's the instructions;

Phase 1.

Go and steal you father's favorite LP, if you don't have a father a thrift shop might do. I got three and it cost around a dollar.

Phase 2.

First make a hole in the center of the lp, big enough to fit the bottle's neck through.

Like this;

Phase 3.

Now turn the grill on, I used a wire to make a circle which I used as help forming the lamp.

I fitted the lamp and wiring and here when it's on.

The hole I fitted the lamp could look better and I've been thinking to make "a collar" of sort.

Also it's pretty light so making a foot to it would be an improve it.

While that is creative, it's one ugly lamp. :P

Isn't that like a fire hazard?

I stuffed liquior bottles with clear Christmas lights and plugged them into a power strip.  Probably can't read by that light but the guy who got them as a gift says they are a lot better then candles when he's getting laid.

Oh, buy the christmas lights that don't have a plug on one end.

And if your giving it as a gift, the large Victoria's Secret bag works great.  Men pay attention when you give them a gift in a VS bag.  Intimidates the fuck out of them.  Tell them it's a man thong--lol.

I have one of those - a wine bottle with white Christmas-like lights in it.  I love it.

why would it be fire hazard?

I don't know what the combustion point of vinyl is, or how hot a bulb gets, but when vinyl burns, it burns real good.

As a kid, burning vinyl, and guitar picks was a lot of fun. ;)

I used to watch them burn. I think the fumes from plastics are toxic.

This is getting way off topic, from the LP lamp, but...speaking of 12 or 13 yr old boys & fire.....My son, around that age or so, decided, along with his best friend, to put a whole bunch of crayons in a coffee can and throw it on the campfire, with the excuse that they wanted to melt all the colors together and see what would happen.....a few minutes later....kaboom!!!  Fucker flew up into the air with an explosion!  That's what happens to crayons, when placed in fire!  They were laughing their asses off...I was shittin' my pants!  "Godammit!  What the fuck were you THINKING?!?"
