I just went on the the queen forum and i think its hilarious how us gnr fans are talking about axl and getting him votes and then on another site u got all the queen fans talking about getting freddie votes and talking crap about axl .. its so funny .. two different bands, two forums against each other! i love it!  .. u have to read thier comments about axl, one person said how they cant believe axl is at number 2, they didnt know he had that many fans lol, that he must have a large family or somthing thats voting for him and little do they know us here at the gnr forums are pushing for axl!!!

I realize that, but some Queen fan thought it must've been Axl's large family that was helping along.  Probably joking of course but they are quite upset over there to think that Axl Rose can even be thought of on the same level as Freddy Mercury.

Freddie, as I said is great, but I think he is a little Kurt Cobain, overrated a tad cause of the tragic way he died.

in spite of Axl is one my favorite frontman ever, I don't think he is the best, at least,? in this list there are four or five singers as well as Axl Rose, I mean, Paul Stanley, Bruce Dicikinson, Robert Plant, Freddie, Perry and I would add Rob Halford and Dio to the list, besides Ozzy, why not?...

I agree about Cobain, he had a very short career, but Freddie was at least 15 years at the top, he had a outstanding talent, very versatile voice, beside his incomparable scenic presence.

Why not? ... How about because Perry destroyed what could have been one of the best rock bands of the 70s.

But if you think that Freddie Mercury is overrated, then he would have been overrated before he died as well...  Queen had a very long, established and successful running with Freddie Mercury.  It's not like his death is why he has a legacy!

I don't think Freddie is overrated. too melodramatic to my liking but he was a great vocalist nevertheless.
Anyhow this thread has been classy so far without unnecessary pissing on the singers. lets keep it up.

I mainly shared the opinions of that i liked axl's voice/persona/stage act better then freddie, axl will always be#1 to me.
 freddie might have been overrated while he was alive, that is alwasy relative and to each their own, freddie is a legend no doubt about that.. no one is trying to take that away from him or saying he's not, but death often glorifying when it comes to rockstars

GUys, dont u understand, we can make ppl see that hes one of the best singers in rock and has fans despite all the shit they say about him... Just go to the queen forum where they are all surprised that axl is so high, they said that they thought he was washed up, how does he have so many fans, another one said, he must have a large family thats voting for him, another one said idk what ppl see in axl rose.... furthermore these polls are issued out to magazines of music and the media when needed.. like now during the presidential races colleges take polls and then release them to cnn or whatever, the same holds true for any poll we have voted for axl in or guns.... for example, just like two months ago, a poll was released to the media that said guns n roses are the third highest band that ppl would like to see tour, just above them was pink floyd and number one followed by abba. but do u get my point how polls are used? Im not saying Freddie isn't a legend but just imagine if Axl had died very tragically at the height of UYI's.  He is a legendary mythical figure of epic proportions now

I don?t agree. Freddie Mercury was a legend and was on a pedestal when he was alive and by his own merits, because he was amazing. And alive or dead he will always be one of the greatest. BUT it doesn?t mean people vote him because of the reasons you said man, I admit he is one of the greatest but I like Axl more and voted for him.

I think people vote the one they like most, it?s not the first time we have one of these polls and gnr fans not always vote for Axl, they usually vote for the one they like most.
