Title: old GNR fan sites
Post by: OreGunsNRoses on December 30, 2007, 12:51:59 PM
I was just curious if anyone else remembers some of the GNR fan sites that were around back around 95-96. I remember when I first looked up GNR on the internet, the first result was something called "Jeff Boerio's GNR site". And there was a different website entirely dedicated to W. Axl Rose, with lots of red graphics that I used to visit quite often, years ago. I remember a main graphic being Axl's autograph real big at the top. The person who ran that page also documented his trip to Lafayette in search of Axl, and how he looked up Rose and Bailey in the phonebooks there. Also there was a page called .44 cal horticulture. Any of these ring a bell with anyone?

I remember .44 cal very well, I believe mygnr had something to do with the downfall of that site, she sold it to him but he never paid or something. Been a while since I've came across that story.

Oh, I'm assuming ya remember Lost Rose, GNRX, MYGNR's message board [not like their current forum, like an online bulletin board], GNRONLINE.com forum...etc.

GNRX.com was a decent site.  If anyone comes in contact with Chris the admin please send me a PM.  I'd like to catch up with him and see how he's been since Vegas

Jeff's GN'R site was the first one I visited back in like 94....

Other sites that were around in the mid- to late-90s were Elly's ".44 Caliber Horticulture", the Axl fan page (I think the guy running it called himself T. Axl....), "GN'R bootleg page" (which turned into Mygnr). a Norwegian page called "Paradise City", Ravi's "Welcome To The Jungle" page, Linda was running snakepit.org, Lost Rose (which was supposed to be closed unless somebody from GN'R contacted the owner) and then when the forumes started popping up in the late 90s a bunch of them were born.

haha I think you are right about that guy calling himself T. Axl.I used to visit that page and others all the time during that period. It was such a shitty time to be an Axl/GNR fan, for a couple years I dont think there was any photos of Axl until that Phoenix mug shot in 98.

Belgium Democracy was rad. I think it went away in 01 or 02. They used to stay pretty updated and these funny midi files for GN'R songs.
