Title: Something ironic Post by: spaghetti_incident on December 06, 2007, 12:14:05 PM I was looking at Reckless Road last night and I think every young person should pick up this book for a number of reasons.
First of all, when Guns started out, they only had like 6-8 songs as their set list. Second, their setlists remained the same for quite some time.? They would add in new songs, like for example, Dec. 20, 1985 I think was the year that Nightrain made it's debut into the setlist. What is ironic is that not really much has changed yet people still feel the need to complain about the setlists even to this day. Guns always did that. I think for the people on here who don't quite understand why Axl takes the stage late or why the setlists don't offer up much variety after reading this book, will realize that is the format they always used even with they first started out in the LA club circuit. It's funny too, because in this book, Guns shared the bill with artists who never made it big so this formula must work pretty well for them. a) that's all they'd written b) that's all the time the club owner would permit them They have a ton more songs written and available now then they did back in 85.
