Title: VR Greatest Hits Post by: seely on December 06, 2007, 07:44:48 AM I've just been wondering, since VR is going through a dark patch (again!) at the moment, they might not be around for much longer, and so it's likely that RCA will do a greatest hits record. What would you guys like to see on there?
My list is: -Do It for the kids -illegal i song -get out the door -big machine -fall to pieces -the last fight -pills, demons and e.t.c -Set me free -let it roll -slither -american man -grave dancer (without the horrible hidden track) or something like that anyway! Title: Re: VR Greatest Hits Post by: hellfirecan on December 06, 2007, 07:58:25 AM I really like the hidden track...
Title: Re: VR Greatest Hits Post by: cfcsfc on December 06, 2007, 08:19:29 AM VR Greatests Hits?
I'd have it as a 2 disk set- disk 1 Contraband; disk 2 Libertad. Seriously, you can't make a greatest hits out of only 2 albums and a few covers. Seriously, you can't make a greatest hits out of only 2 albums and a few covers. Depends on how many songs you wanna include, they could include some b-sides as well, like 'Messages' and 'Psych Killer' to spread it out Title: Re: VR Greatest Hits Post by: MeanBone on December 06, 2007, 09:17:34 AM they don't have hits...

The whole Greatest hits idea for VR is a really bad idea right now, they are more likely to rerelease Libertad with Messages on it. Title: Re: VR Greatest Hits Post by: seely on December 06, 2007, 03:26:12 PM :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

They have enough for it.
Title: Re: VR Greatest Hits Post by: seely on December 09, 2007, 07:28:02 AM I'd say a b-sides is more likely if RCA decides to put something out that isn't a brand new album.? They have enough for it. Probably would be a decent idea, something to fill the gap between now and the next record Title: Re: VR Greatest Hits Post by: Killingmachine on December 09, 2007, 08:20:39 AM I'd rather a live album, later, a third album with other vocalist.. : ok:
Title: Re: VR Greatest Hits Post by: seely on December 10, 2007, 04:04:37 AM I'd rather a live album,? later,? a third album with other vocalist.. : ok: Yeah, a live album would be pretty cool Title: Re: VR Greatest Hits Post by: LIGuns on December 10, 2007, 08:58:58 AM Judas Priest's 3rd album was a best of compilation...

Title: Re: VR Greatest Hits Post by: jarmo on December 11, 2007, 12:05:02 PM I suspect it would be something like this:
Set Me Free Slither Fall To Pieces Dirty Little Thing Come On Come In You Got No Right She Builds Quick Machines The Last Fight Fall To Pieces (acoustic) plus a couple of non-singles and tracks that weren't on the CDs (like Japanese/iTunes bonus tracks). /jarmo Title: Re: VR Greatest Hits Post by: Killingmachine on December 11, 2007, 01:00:15 PM Judas Priest's 3rd album was a? best of compilation... I know what you mean, just read my nickname, : ok:, I love Judas Priest... Title: Re: VR Greatest Hits Post by: D on December 11, 2007, 05:20:19 PM It still really pisses me off that they left a gem like "Messages" off the album.
Title: Re: VR Greatest Hits Post by: Wheres Izzy on December 11, 2007, 10:11:21 PM probably a live album is next, followed by a bside album and then a best of Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if thats how it went down. Especially if the band ends up not staying together. Either the band or the record company will probably try to squeeze every penny out of the name while they can. It still really pisses me off that they left a gem like "Messages" off the album. Yeah I will still never get that. When I met Slash last month at a book signing here in jersey I told him it was my favorite song from libertad and asked him why it was left off. He said that they thought the album had too many ballads and they knew they needed a song to give to itunes so they chose messages. Title: Re: VR Greatest Hits Post by: seely on December 13, 2007, 06:08:30 AM probably a live album is next, followed by a bside album and then a best of Ain't that milking the cow ... Title: Re: VR Greatest Hits Post by: Drew on December 17, 2007, 08:11:08 PM My Greatest Hits would probably be something like this.
1. Set Me Free 2. Slither 3. Superhuman 4. Sucker Train Blues 5. Big Machine Not much of a cd really. Should probably just go buy 'Contraband' instead. :-\ Title: Re: VR Greatest Hits Post by: F*ck Fear on December 18, 2007, 05:05:05 AM 1. Slither
2. Suckertrain Blues 3. Do It For The Kids 4. Big Machine 5. Illegal I 6. Superhuman 7. Fall To Pieces 8. Dirty Little Thing 9. Loving The Alien 10. Let It Roll 11. Get Out The Door 12. 1. Set Me Free ("Hulk" soundtrack version - the mix was better) 2. Slither 3. Fall To Pieces 4. Dirty Little Thing 5. Sucker Train Blues (It WAS going to be the third single, but they went with DLT instead.) 6. Come On, Come In 7. She Builds Quick Machines 8. The Last Fight 9. Get Out The Door 10. Let It Roll 11. Messages 12. Gas And A Dollar Laugh 13. Psycho Killer 14. No More No More 15. Surrender 16. Money 17. Negative Creep 18. Bodies (Live) A "hits" and b-sides package would be the best way - since they'd be able to fill the disc up and pimp out the "rare" tracks. |
