Post by: St.heathen on November 26, 2007, 08:17:26 PM
Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, couldn't see it anywhere.

Slash was interviewed for Russell Brands radio show last Saturday.
If you go to the listen again feature. It's about an hour in and it's a good laugh. It will  be there till next Sat.

Enjoy!

Wow, Brand is a tool. So...are all the people in Britain who can speak properly otherwise employed? It really irritates me when interviewers talk about themselves instead of asking questions so the interviewee can talk instead. During that nine minute interview, at least two minutes were used up by Brand talking. He may be a radio "personality" but he needs to be put firmly in his place.

Other than that, there was some interesting stuff in there. Slash seems to be a little unhappy with how the book was written. Or was that just me?

Well, I think it's just you ... coz I didn't get that impression really ... I think he was just saying that it took a lot of work to get right ...

Also ... I love Russel Brand, and think he added a lot to an interview that normally would have consisted of the same boring old questions.  He asked about the drug infused halicinations and discussed his own drug addiction too ... an immediate connection and pretty much talked on the same level as Slash.  MUCH better than some suit asking questions about something he knows fuck all about don't you think?

:)  I liked it ... :)

I wouldn't have minded if Brand had substituted talk about his personal situation, his new book and the explanation of its title for questions about other stuff, or gentle nudges. I assume that Brand is on the radio for 4 hours or so...couldn't he have taken a break from self-promotion for ten minutes? He reminds me of Chris Evans, the man who took over the breakfast slot on Virgin Radio from Russ & Jono. R&J had a fun show, Evans came in and eventually it turned into four hours of him talking about himself. He ruined a good station.

Anyway, I'm not saying that "some suit" could have made Slash more interesting, but someone who can speak properly and has the decency to allow his interviewee to talk...well, now we're on to something!
