Here Today... Gone To Hell!

I was driving to work today Listening to ANGEL DOWN for the very first time. Axl sounded so good, I was so happy. All of a sudden I lost complete control of my car ( I hit a patch of black ice) and my car spun around 3 times. Something took over the car and it stopped with no damage to me, the car or somebody else. Call me crazy, but some divine intervention took over that car! I even braced myself and said, you are going to total this car. The true miracle was that no one else was in the other lane. And I was only 30 minutes late for work.

wow, glad to hear you're okay Annie! black ice is a scary thing, my mother had the same thing happen to her a year or so ago.

North Ave is a VERY busy city street in Chicago. There are always cars going in both directions. I was late to work because I started crying hysterically after it happened. I work in a  PICU where I take care of critically ill children on life support, and I wasn't even sure if I was emotionally stable enough to work, but I pulled it together.

Well I'm glad your safe, but angels didn't have anything to do with it. Maybe it was your defensive driving skills. I can assure you there is a very logical explanation.

I just let go, I don't even remember what I did, except prepare myself for the worst, crashing into something. The way the car stopped perfectly positioned just felt supernatural.

The last time I braced for impact, It messed my wrist up, but I tore the hell out of a truck and car.

Yeah, it heal up after a month or two. I T-boned a truck that ran a stop sign. I was going 50mph ... it totaled both vehicles. The guy was plastered the night of the final game in the NCAA tourny last march.

I am glad that you are better! That must have been so scarey for you!

It sucked, but it happened so fast that I didn't have time to be afraid. I think I probably said "shit" just before impact. I've been in a few crashes, it is the fast ones that suck, but thanks for the concern.

I can't help but think that you have some angels looking out for you too!
