Well I'll be damned!!!

That banana sure does fit human orifices well.   :hihi:  If I knew how to freeze-frame vids, I'd get a nice one with Kirk's sidekick mouth open wide over that 'nana.  :hihi:

I actually watched these jokers one night after dinner...the religious channels are great for comedic value.  They were going over strategies to use when trying to convert heathens.  I am not kidding!  It was priceless.  Everything down to tone of voice, body positioning, great stuff.

These are very scary individuals with a message that appears benign at first.  They preach about the degradation of our society today when in actuality, if they are to succeed in suppressing science, it is they who will be the prime contributors to the downfall of our civilization.

Bring on the Rapture!   ::) dumb-asses.

LOL - Let's all laugh at religion.

Now now, a lot of religious folks aren't as stupid as Captain Kirk Cameron and co.  Many religious folks understand that creation myths are just that.  For all that science can't explain, there's religion...however, when religion tries to explain what science can...that's where we run into problems.   : ok:

No offence, I know what you're trying to say, but your statement is so wrong.

Both historically and even in present day, Religion has tried and continues to try to meddle in science, not just providing "explanations", but even trying to PREVENT research.? ?

And secondly - "For all that science can't explain, there's religion".? There's no logic to assuming that just because science doesn't know the answer to something, religion should.? ? It's just like saying that "for all science can't explain, there's drugs".? ? Religion does not provide us with a good moral compass, nor does it provide us with answers to things that are outside the bounds of science.

So while some religious folks take some parts of the bible as allegory and some as literal, there's really no way of knowing if you've "lucked out" in the religion lottery and picked the right religion and even the right interpretation of that religion.? ?Are they allegory or literal?? Who knows?? Someone makes the choice, either you make it or someone makes it for you.? ?But the fact that there is even a choice to be made is a total farce.

And I'm not suggesting that all religious people are stupid.  I hope it doesn't come across that way.   But I don't understand how anyone can actually do the research and still be religious.  I can understand people being religious because they were born into it, but it amazes me that so many people will just go "yeah ok" when someone says "ok, so we have this story and we think you should believe in it."

Howard2k, I really like your posts, even when they put me in my place.  :)

I agree with you.  But, remember, not all religions meddle with science.  I guess that was the main point I tried driving home.

 :peace:

To our credit, the dude talking about the banana didn't have an American accent.  It wasn't a strong accent.  Sounded Australian, maybe?

I've seen the PB vid before, but it's nice to revisit stupidity.

My personal favorite is this one:

Humans share 98% of their DNA with chimpanzees.
Clouds and watermelons are both about 95% water.
If we argue that evolution is responsible for the relationship of man to ape, why don't we argue that clouds are related to watermelons?

Ray Comfort - New Zealander. I lived in NZ for a year when I was young, but remember enough to know they have some whacked xian loonies.

Religion is much more about "why not" than "why".
