Here Today... Gone To Hell!

I have a sort of unofficial rule that it is sacrilege to turn off the car whenever I hear AXL singing on the radio, even if it means being late for work. The other day I was really annoyed with this old lady who was taking too long to vacate the parking space I wanted, but then A GNR song came on and I had to wait 5 more minutes for it to finish! I just can't turn off Uncle Axl! I also tend to blast GNR, even if other people are in the car!

If it were to be a new song no... But anything old, i have noooo problem getting out  :hihi:

happened to me last night.. November Rain.  :)    Theres a station here in LV that regularly plays that, SCOM, Brownstone, and YCBM

I've been late to work several times finishing up a GNR tune.  The most memorable came a couple weeks ago where the Philly station 94.1 was playing all live songs in the morning...I get into the parking lot as PC is finishing...and whaddaya know, SCOM starts up!  It was not Live Era which made it incredibly cool...so of course I listened to the whole damn song.

Good to know I'm not the only insane person in the world.  I have the same unwritten rule, though I must admit I do break it from time to time.  But for the most part I stay to the bitter end.  I actually have my friends trained.  Coming home one night, about 1 minute from home "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" came on and my friend was driving.  He took a detour around the block and we sang along and drove around until the song ended.  I didn't even have to ask, I guess he could sense it.  And another time I had a friend visiting from out of state.  We returned from breakfast and my favorite song came on, "Rocket Queen".  I proceeded to do the normal thing any sane fan would do, sit in the driveway and sing the song to her.  I don't know if she was impressed, or thought I was mentally unstable, but I figured it had to be done.

I'm the same way and always have been.  If I were to turn the car off or stop the song in the middle of it, I feel that in some way I would be betraying the band and what I stand for.....just can't do it! :smoking:

If its just a cd i have playing in the car it doesn't worry me getting out but if its the radio then I will sit there till its over.

I have been late for work because of that a few times.

I'm not quite like that.  It's very difficult to turn it off, in the parking lot, before work.  But, it's a CD, so when I get back into the car, after work, the same song is there, blasting out of the speakers!     

Those are difficult songs to give up, aren't they?

It depends on the situation, but I do that for a lot of bands.

Depends, but when I have no choice it really pisses my off!

i'll wait until the song is done before i get out of the car. anytime!

I'm able to get out of the car, and even shut down my mp3 player in the middle of a song but...
When we're at a bar and I've been drinking, you never know what's gonna happen when they start playing GNR. I've made a complete fool of myself many many times by jumping up and down and screaming "they're playing GNR! it's GNR!" etc... My friends are like "what's the big deal, it's just a song, calm down dammit"... ::)

I used to stay in the car, but over the last few years, forget it.  Their songs are on so much, and I've heard them so many times, I have no problem getting out of the car now.
OT(I do have trouble getting out of the car sometimes when Howard Stern is on)

Yeah Stern is a whole different animal.  At the most, with GNR, you might get caught in a block of songs that'll keep you in your car for 15 minutes or so.  BUT Stern has had some segments that have kept me in my car upwards of one hour.

I never listen to the radio so yes.

When I get back in the car I just restart the song via the back button on my cd player.

I don't have a car...but Civil War came once on the local rock station (I was in a bus  :hihi: ) and I came down to the next stop.

yep ... I am able to get out of the car if they are on. Not like I can't hear the song anytime . Hell I /we own the albums.

Used to be that I couldnt get out of my car until the song was over, but since I bought my Ipod, whenever I hear a GnR song, I switch over to the Ipod. Quality is so much better, and less chance of it going staticy because of crappy reception.

I will stay every time if i hear a song on the radio.  I will get out if i have a cd in, and i usually have a GnR cd in. 

I NEVER move if i hear GnR on at the bar or something, even if i'm on my way to the bathroom.  But then again, 9 out of 10 times it's because i played the GnR.  (i play Sweet Child every time i go to the bar, mostly due to lack of choices.  My bar sucks)  My friends always look at me and say, "Oh jesus.  Did you play this?"

You would think they would have all their tapes/CD's, roflrofl... Well, I do, anyways.

I can't get out of the car either, its not that often that they play GnR on regular radio stations in Ireland. It'll be Sweet Child', November Rain, Patience or Paradise City oh and 'Jungle and they've gotta be appreciated when a DJ decides to play them. I'm hoping when C'Democracy comes out that we're gonna be hearing alot more airplay from all the albums

When they are playing ( radio or my own doing) I open the fucking windows and make Earth listen as well
