Title: Estranged Vs. Black Post by: newgnr on November 13, 2007, 01:10:54 AM Maybe wrong section, idk...but I feel like talking about it.
The way I interpret it, Estranged and Pearl Jam's Black have very similar meanings. Both are about not being loved back by the one you love. However, they are told in different ways: Estranged has a more depressed look on it (however there are a few lines that would show some hope to the future) and how you're just gonna have to deal with it, while Black expresses the beauty of it yet you can feel the anger. Both are really beautiful songs, possibly the best by each band. What are your thoughts on the two? Title: Re: Estranged Vs. November Rain is just telling about it, and Estranged is acknowledging the facts of it and having to figure out what to. I'm not framiliar w/Black so I don't know if we can really compare the 2 songs, so who knows.-= iZzbO =- Title: Re: Estranged Vs. Black Post by: CryGirl on November 15, 2007, 08:36:43 PM I love both bands, for different reasons, of course- the sound and voices are completly different...
But I do see a great point there and a funny and very interesting similarity. For those who don't know much about Pearl Jam, you should at least try to listen to this one song, Black. I'm sure you would be surprised! :) Title: Re: Estranged Vs. I loved Pearl Jam when they first came out. It was them and GNR for me. When GNR went into hiding I thought I was all set because Pearl Jam was pumping out albums every few years. But after Vitalogy they started to lose me. I bought their next 2 albums but was less impressed with each of them. Really haven't paid much attention to them since. Still love the old stuff though, "Black" is a very solid song. But I do see a great point there and a funny and very interesting similarity. For those who don't know much about Pearl Jam, you should at least try to listen to this one song, Black. And to watch them live... uff... surely one of the best feelings I've ever had in my life. It's like a celebration of life, of music, I don't know but it feels real good. Title: Re: Estranged Vs.
