Title: Rolling Stone's Impossible Rock Quiz
Post by: acompleteunknown on November 09, 2007, 02:27:38 AM
There's a Guns N Roses question toward the end...but I think the answer is wrong.  (I got a 43 BTW)

What was the last "officially" released single by Guns N Roses?

This has been posted in the Bad Obsession section.

And the last officially released single by Guns N' Roses is "Oh My God" for the movie 'End of Days' in 1999.

I did not think Oh My God was a single - only a song released on the End of Days Soundtrack - therefore correct answer would  be Since I don't have you????

I got 33 (34) if above is correct..  ;D

I would have thought it was Sympathy for the devil?
Guess it depends how you wanna define a single here.

the last released single is 'sympathy for the devil'

'oh my god' is a single song - but was only avalible on the end of days soundtrack.

I heard Oh My God on the radio when it came out.  Wouldn't that make it a single then?

Not necessarily... They played it cause it was GNR...

It would have to be released in "Single" form

That's not true. (Besides, it's the right answer to the question)

It's available as a single, but only as a promo...

So technically, it can be considered their latest single release.

I got a 31 on that test.  It was definitely a hard test, especially being 26 and not growing up in the era that had most of the questions.  What did everyone else get?

Sympathy For The Devil was the last single you could buy.

So I assume that's what they mean?

But Oh My God was released to radio......

Somebody needs to check the answers.  :hihi:

are you sure SFTD was released as a single when the movie was released? at the time, i recall it only being available if your bought the entire movie soundtrack. but, a few years later it was available as a single for some reason....

Maybe Oh My God was released after CD singles had gone by the wayside but was still considered a radio single? ???

''Oh My God'' was never released as single.

Several ''promo-cds'' were delivered to radio stations

Here are some of them (http://www.troccolitm.com/)

54: expert.

im a little ticked because i could swear prince did nothing compares 2 u first. unless he just wrote it and some else recorded it.

also jarmo, that cover kicks ass, and so does the cover to that cover.

as ive said before, everything guns touched (as far as other peoples music goes), turns to gold.

That WAS almost impossible.  I got a 32.

Without getting all "technical" about what constitutes a single, Oh My God was the last "new GnR song" I remember hearing on the radio.

Incorrect.....the actual answer is "Oh My God".  It was released as a promo single from the End Of Days soundtrack.
