hey all when i saw this up on CD.com i about pissed myself with glee ;D

anyway, heres the artical that was re-typed by guns_n_motley-

in the new metal edge november/december edition. I typed up the part about Chinese democracy.


Well, Ive heard the six tracks that were leaked, and they're amazing

Bach: But those arent the final versions. he laughed about those. those arent the record. those are some other version of whatever. One of my favorite songs - I asked axl if I could mention the song titles and he said "fine"--and one of my favorite songs is this song called "the general" which is so, its by far the heaviest metal tune I think ive ever heard axl do, this slow grinding riff with these high peircing vocals, screaming vocals. I was like , when is this coming out? and he said "2012" I was like dude, your killin me! He goes, "well this comes out on the third record. it relates to this song, its a trilogy, this goes with this lyrically." hes got it all figured out, hes just different than other people. he does thingso n his own time, in his own way, but you know...the worlds not prepared for what ive heard from this guy. its got the grandness and the epic-ness of november rain but with the snarl, the attitude of appetite. because the album that ive heard, alot of the drumming is by brain, who plays so heavy and mean. its a really...grand is the word for it, but its still got that attitude. Theres some great music comin' your way. My album meanwhile is 100 percent comin out on november 20. thats 100 percentile. its done, its mastered, ive got it on my fucking ipod and its ready to go.

Do you ever get him on the phone and say "will you just put your fuckin record out already?"

Bach: I said that to him once, and it was one of the only times he bristled at me. He goes "Oh, everybody, sebastians got a great fucking idea. Hey! I should put out a record! Thanks, man what would I do without you dude...thats awesome." I was like Ok, I get it. Ill never say that again. see, the thing that nobody gets, that I get, is that he has like four albums Done. Ive heard it. So get ready! All you people who dont think hes gonna put out a record are sadly mistaken. He just takes his time. its his album. axl does what he wants to do, thats the way it is. And just cause you havent heard it doesnt mean its not done.


when i read that part about "The General", isn't that the same thing he said about "Sorry"?

I understood it like axl's plan is that the third album will be out 2012, (wich in my world means second album maybe will be out 2010 and first 2008? :D pure speculation of course) at first i thought it was a joke from axl but then i as i said read maybe too much in to it :hihi:

If the third album is gonna come out in 2012, I suppose there's a 2 year break between the other albums, so 2008 will be the year of the first one, right? ;D

and the same thing was said at CD.com, if the last one falls in 2012 then maybe the second in 2010 and the first in 2008, but what i don't understand is WHY have it spread out over a course of 6years?

why not release one album every 6 or 7 months?

Seems like Sebastian is the spokesperson for the band these days.  I'm beginning to think that he'll give us the official release date before anyone else.  He makes it SEEM like Axl has a definite plan of attack here, and I'm sure he does.  I just wish we were brought up to date a little bit about what that plan must consist of.  But I know, I know, this is GNR, that's not gonna happen.  I'll just have to accept this information as true and that Axl just doesn't feel the time is right to unleash the beast to the public.  I just hope the time comes sometime soon, if he's going on what the public is into right now we'll never hear the album.  Maybe he's waiting for the music industry to reach an all-time low before he saves us all.  I think we're almost there.

It all sounds great and the way he describes it is very unlike the way he describes HIS OWN music, which means he knows its way better than whats out there.

I like that Axl has a concept. I just hope he didn't get carried away with it and that it doesn't get tired by the 3rd record. I'm not sure I can handle 5 new November Rains and 3 Estrangedes. Axl with GNR has already made many great songs and covered the spectrum of human emotion. It will be interesting to see and hear new material, some of which covering new themes and sounds.

But like I have said before, the songs that have been heavily covered by topics on these boards and dissected are probably not even going to be the songs that matter in the end. Axl woudn't leak his BEST songs (except to Baz - lucky him)

well, this is kinda what I was thinking, three albums sounds awesome and all but... its hard enough for them to release ONE album.......I dont even want to think about the other two... I would even go as far as to say that I wont really wait for the other two, just give me one and Ill be happy.

Well if Axl has three albums coming it looks like he's gonna make alot of money for himself over the next few years and he can relax and put his feet up and not have to worry about recording for a while or listening to everyone whining about him. Thanks for the update Baz. I think Axl's idea is pretty clear now, spend a few years putting alot of work in then chill out and release his work when he wants to. Axl you're a fuckin legend!!!

I don't know about anyone else, but reading that made me happy. ?A drummer like Brain really only comes around once in a while.. He's that good..and he's got that groove. Steven had it. Matt didn't/doesn't have it and Frank doesn't have it. I'm still glad that Frank has recorded tracks but I'm glad that Brain plays on the majority of the album (from what I've read). ?;)

well, since the first album of this chinese democracy trilogy was supposed to be out in 1999, we know that we can safely add 9 years to any release date that Axl gives us.

This can be formulated as follows:

Actual Release Date = (What Axl Says) + At least 9 years.

This means that this third album with The General will safely be yours in time for Christmas of 2021.




Give me a break. This is just Baz dropping Axl's name to give his own album more publicity. Isn't it obvious?

In a lot of ways Baz is just a huge fan of Axl like we are and he asked a typical "fan" type question.  Axl's response was hilarious!

I've always been worried about the whole 3 or 4 album thing. Mainly because I fear that if Axl doesn't like the way that the first album is recieved, then we could never get to hear the rest of the albums.

It would be nice just to have the first album received...period.

We dont need Baz TELLING us how good cd is,
we have heard alot of songs already from chinese democracy,
but for baz to be continually saying "IVE HEARD THIS GREAT SONG ETC"
50 times each month, its like his rubbing our noses in it,

But I want to hear this kind of enthusiasm from the people that actually made the songs,

and now having heard more songs in December he mentions the general which is slated to be on the 3rd album.

So I assume the two are different songs and the song related to the general is sorry.

I love Sebastian but I think he should shut up for a while.


I know u guys are loving all these updates but I want news from AXL not Sebastian, and if he isn't careful, he is gonna go too far and truly piss Axl off and then it may be 13 years before he hears from Axl again.


I think Sebastian is starting to cross the line a bit and is oblivious to the fact that the media are now using him to find out about Axl and CD and if it wasn't for his connection to Axl, he wouldn't be getting much press at all.

If it's Sebastian telling us this, we go: i wanna hear this from the band itself,

If the band speaks of this, we go: i won't believe it till Axl says this...

If Axl tells us, we go: Won't believe a damn thing till the record company announces it....

If the record company does announce it, we go: won't believe it till i see it on the shelves...

If we bought it, we go: i'll believe this is it once i played this and confirmed this is CD....

That 2008 -> 2010 -> 2012 plan sounds very good for me, and it could be possible and fair too. Because i think its fair to release 3 albums after these years what we have waited.

But lets see whats next update from Baz or Axl..

That would make more sence to me, I'm reading slash' bio and just read the part about GNR having two albums(appettite and lies) in the billboard top 5 albums at the same time, i could see axl wanted to out do this and therefore won't have too long a gap between each album.

baz isnt dropping axls name at all. im tired of people saying this. DJ's ASK HIM these questions about CD, the leaks etc. and baz answers them. its not like hes going out of his way.

Baz apparently has requested to be on the Howard Stern show according to the news channel on Howard's Sirius station.....Howard didnt really say if he was going to have him on but would be interesting

apparantly baz came bursting in with the angel down cd, and said he would debut back in the saddle on it if he could be on howards show.

I agree to an extent, however I don't think he's using him to be honest.. I think he's as excited about this as he seems to be about pretty much everything. Baz seems to be a really outgoing guy who loves to talk without taking a moment and really think about what he does necessarily..remember the Savage Animal stuff on VH1's Supergroup? "Yo check it out, i've got a name...Savage animal dude, yeahhhhhhhh!!! I love the way it rolls off my tongue man, fucking awesome man" etc clearly missing the irony of that name as a bandname and not realizing how ridiculous of a name it really is. And then that interview on Eddie Trunk last week where Ron was pretty much hinting Baz not to talk about CD so much..which he obviously did. I don't think he even really realizes that he's basically the only one who's really giving us any insight into GNR (even though he isn't in the band to begin with) and how that can come across on people.

Then again, I'm sure that Axl knows about Baz talking about all of this stuff, and even if he wouldn't (which I doubt) he's bound to find out.

Did anyone read the rest of the interview? How can you say he's more focused on Axl/CD than Angel Down?


Damn, can't you notice how WE, as GNR fans, obviously pay more attention on that? We are focused on Guns N' Roses. Just read/listen to the whole interview before. Also, of course Baz will talk about Axl every time - it's what people do on interviews. They need to tell the same history several times to each magazine/radio/whatever.

I can't believe how something good about the album - which everybody here wants - can't be just something good. There's always people who will bitch about not being the way they wanted.

Also, let's say the release pattern is the 2008-2010-2012 pattern people are talking about. ?I would think the chances of the other two records leaking ahead of time would be immense. ?Maybe the record company is pushing Guns to condense or release all three? ?Pure speculation of course.

After reading the answer to the second question in the first post again, I realize he's saying he heard all 4 albums.  Didn't realize that until now, just thought he'd heard the one.

he listened all the new material. so, "4 complete albums" (3 albums + some extra tracks, probably).
i suppose the tracking list is not totally fixed for the next ones, but maybe it is now, since Axl said the general
is on the last one.

anyway, it's time to give us a first single, i hope the record company will be smart enough to do that this month.

and i hope the legal problems has nothing to do with the old members...

Releasing 3 cd's might be a problem for the record company... but if the pattern is 2008-2010-2012, there's no way they would leak much earlier than any other record. I mean, would the millions of copies of the other two records just sit in some huge warehouse for two (or four) years? Haha. They won't go in production any earlier than any other record.

I think they don't even want to make a 3 cd deal right now if you know what I mean... They probably want to see if the first cd sells or not. Why don't they just ask us. ;D ;D ;D

Nothing to do wit the music because you may like or dislike any music, but you can't call GNR fans as inferior to Nirvana. Nirvana was cut, dried and died. GNR is an epic story and they're open for any type of speculation. Different members comes and go and different versions of Axl come and go and people may have different opinions about them (dumb or not). But they exist and continue to stride to a better conclusion to the epic.

The fact alone stands that people who like GNR are perhaps seeking a higher source of inspiration from a band that was all over here yesterday and lived to tell about it today and sing and play songs about it instead of a numb-nuts who ended it. I'm beginning to buy into this theory more and more.  I mean granted, mentioning Axl as much as Baz does is done primarily to drum up interest in the public for Angel Down.  BUT, I think Sebastian is truly greatful for all that Axl has done for him and he's willing to try and do the same for Axl.  And I think it's quite possible that Axl has given Baz permission to push his name and information about Chinese Democracy.  After all, "the timing couldn't be better."

Why would anybody be upset about Baz putting Axl's name out in the public eye, with nothing but positive things attached to it?

People always complain when the media isn't "fair" to Axl. But you've got his bud out there promoting the hell out of him (covering various types of media outlets), and you're not happy with that?

Axl is on Bach's album and Bach is on Chinese Democracy, whereas according to both Axl and Slash they haven't even spoken face to face in 11 years or so which is the key difference  : ok:

if the songs are done and the discs are all complete (no reason to think they're not at the very least close to finished) i'll be shocked if the 2nd and/or 3rd albums don't leak somehow.

Seems like every new CD by major artists leaks a week or two before it comes out.  Albums 2 and 3 could take years!  That would totally suck ass if it leaks.

as for the Slash dropping Axl's name - c'mon - why shouldn't he?  Slash is tied to GNR which is tied to Axl.  Should Slash talk about Weiland? hahah.  Isn't the book about his days in Guns too?

Newsflash, ALL the music you own by gnr (with the exceptions of a few unfinished demos) and love, have SLASH in them. 90% of ALL concerts that this new band plays, and we all love, would have nothing to play if it was not for SLASH! The argument that some use is "this new version has been together longer than the old" WHO CARES!, In all this time, what have they done? I have been to the concerts, loved them, they play Slash's music very well. People all over the world know slash, he is and ALWAYS will be thought of when you here the words Guns n Roses. Why do you think his book is selling? People who love gnr what to know things about the band. He was there for the BEST part of the band, I think he knows a little more about Axl than buckethead. Sure he is going to tell some stories and twist some things, so would Axl. There is no right or wrong. They were both strung out on drugs and booze, who are we to say one is a liar and one isnt?

They will forever be connected, for christ's sake they worked on 5 pretty amazing albums together let alone embarked on the longest tour in Rock n' Roll History....(UYI tour 91-93). I love this band new/old I get frustrated about the CD not being released but hey, it will come out when it comes out.

 Slash is great and I love him I respect the fact that he left and the band continues but that gives none of you pylons the right to disregard the work he did while in the band.

Why should he have no right to talk about his time in the band? He even sketched the fuckin' logo.

He brought out a book and that's it, if Paul Mc Cartney brought out a book you think he wouldn't talk about John, they were a bit bigger than Guns and spent years not talking to eachother. But for damn sure every interview both ever did after The Beatles they were asked about the time and what the fuck is up.

Inside scoop? it doesn't seem to me like Slash is trying to say anything about the new band at all.

i think the speculation of the 2008-2010-2012 releases are just wishful thinking cuz we want CD to come out soon... just because the last album has a 2012 potential release doesn't mean that the rest of the albums will be released in an even spread from now to then.. for all we know they can all drop in 2012, just a few months apart

I think it's just that Axl just made a guess about the third album because he *believes* the first one will come out next year. I don't think it would all drop in the same year, there's no indication ever that this was/is the plan.

Still can't believe people fail to understand the difference between Sebastian talking about Axl to promote his album in a way that is relevant in the here and now (toured with him in 2006 and 2007, laid down vocals for Chinese Democracy in 2007, has Axl appearing on 3 songs on his album which comes out in 2 weeks, has head Chinese Democracy, is speaking about things that are relevant today) and Slash talking about Axl to promote his music when it is either BS or revolves around events that happened 11+ years ago (announcing Chinese Democracy is coming out in 2006 when he has no clue, talking about the infamous "house incident" and changing his story 3 or 4 times, talking about wanting to do reunions, speaking on things that happened 11+ years) all after several times saying he doesn't want to talk about Axl anymore

Slash's music in 2007 has absolutely nothing to do with Axl Rose.  Slash's music since 1996 has had nothing to do with Axl Rose in any way, shape or form.  Sebastian Bach's music in 2007 does have to do with Axl, he is on the album, he toured with Guns, he recorded vocals for Chinese Democracy this year.  If it's a case of both "using" Axl to sell records, that's for the individual to decide but at least when Bach speaks on Axl it's a)relevant to both his and Axl's music in this day and age and b)is actually informed and truthful

Baz is a musician, axl's friend and more importantly a rock enthusiast. It wouldn't be easy for a music fan that heard something mind-blowing to pretend as it was nothing exciting.

Also it's only natural for a music fan to be more interested in music than old gossips and for an active musician to take their priority to their new album over a book some other musician if not a ghost writer wrote.

Slash hasn't made a relevant or informed comment about Axl in some time.  That probably has something to do with it

Anyway, it's really great to hear Baz mention 'The General', which I'm really looking forward to hearing whenever it's out. With arrangements by Marco Beltrami (assuming they're still used) and drums by Brain, it has the potential to be a great song. I really dig all the work Beltrami has done and Brain of course is a very talented drummer.

I have been waiting a long time for Chinese Democracy and I personally havent minded the wait.

I want to find out everything when its official etc, and not from Baz promoting himself.



Sebastian is a puppet because he, like so many others are Axl's "YES" men, and don't have the balls to tell him how they really feel out of fear of not being his friend anymore.

Just listen to how Axl talked down to Sebastian when he told him to release the album. I mean Baz was just enthusiastic cause he heard amazing music and he was just trying to pep his friend up and tell him that its awesome, RELEASE IT and Axl treated him like a fucking piece of garbage by humiliating him in front of everyone.

To me that really isn't cool.

Yeah, the fact that Baz was willing to share that story in a joking manner should tell you that Axl didn't demean and embarass him.

Ones with good comprehension would read the comments as axl rarely bristles at seb. and the closest he got was the sarcastic answer that admonished seb that axl was truly sick of hearing the same thing from everyone, which was I guess more like a yell of pain than of anger.

The interpretation of Baz's story is kind of like an ink-blot test.  Depending on your opinions of Mr. Rose and Sebastian at the time of your interpretation.

Personally, I laughed out loud when I read the line.  It's obviously a question Axl's been asked literally thousands of times.  I don't think it was condescending or nasty at all.  It was definitely sarcasm.

This is ridiculous. Some of you are making it out to be like Axl is Baz's abusive step dad. Baz simply implied that Axl snapped at him a little when he asked a stupid question. I doubt anyone was traumatized over this little exchange.

I cant believe the way some of you are acting. Whatever, Axl got mad at Sebastian for a split second and made a remark. They're friends, dont tell me that none of you havent gotten mad at one of your friends and made a little remark. It obviously wasnt that serious if Sebastian's joking about it. It happens, all friends get mad at each other every once in a while. You guys are overreacting like its a huge deal or something. Once again, you guys have to overanalyze everything and it blow it up more than it ever was.
