Title: Libertad sales worldwide Post by: nesto111 on October 11, 2007, 02:10:20 PM We know the sales in the US but what are the world wide sales of Libertad?
Does anyone know??? Title: Re: Libertad sales worldwide Post by: Robman? on October 11, 2007, 04:22:47 PM I found some statistics
This is according to the Global Album Chart here: http://www.mediatraffic.de/previous2.htm After 6 weeks it out of the top 40. How they figure out sales is here: http://www.mediatraffic.de/about-us.htm Thats approximately 474,000 copies worldwide in the first 6 weeks of release. So since then it could easily have sold over 500,000. Not a million copies by any means. I think some parts of the world have yet to see it released. Title: Re: Libertad sales worldwide Post by: darkdays_01 on October 12, 2007, 12:08:32 AM I think it is still hovering around 300k in the US. A real shame because it is a great record. The curiosity level was high when Contrband was released and it didnt hurt that Slither was a great lead off track. I think if they would have lead off with Get Out the Door it would have been alot better and also the fact that the single wasnt released to radio until 2 weeks before the record hit the shelves. RCA dropped the ball imo. I think Mary, Mary would do well as a single also.
Title: Re: Libertad sales worldwide Post by: NicoRourke on October 12, 2007, 04:00:48 AM Get Out The Door would have been a perfect lead single. The SBQM song killed the album. Title: Re: Libertad sales worldwide Post by: Genesis on October 12, 2007, 04:22:27 AM Get Out The Door would have been a perfect lead single. The SBQM song killed the album. I for once completely agree :) Title: Re: Libertad sales worldwide Post by: Fingers on October 13, 2007, 07:27:20 AM The music business is changing so much-CD sales in the last few years with a lot of artists are really dropping-I see the new Foo Fighters has dropped from #3 to # 16 despite a lot of airplay for the new single
Title: Re: Libertad sales worldwide Post by: RTK on October 13, 2007, 04:26:25 PM Get Out The Door would have been a perfect lead single. The SBQM song killed the album. Thats irrelevant speculation, given the fact that there would have been slow sales no matter what the single was. Title: Re: Libertad sales worldwide Post by: oldgunsfan on October 18, 2007, 10:22:29 PM Fortunately for me, VRs CD sales has no impact on my life whatsoever so I can enjoy their music and not worry if their going to be able to feed their families......
Id much rather see them in small venues live so the smaller their sales the smaller the venues they have to fill and you get a much better show :P Title: Re: Libertad sales worldwide Post by: Jizzo on October 18, 2007, 10:57:33 PM what are the us numbers at now?
