3 months till the end of the year,
So, I think its safe to say, that we will be fooling ourselves if we think their will be an album release this year,
There has been no talk whatsoever on anything to do with chinese democracy this year
(aside from the concerts (which was same as last year) and axls tentative letter)

So perhaps , the best we can hope for is a release date this year,
for next year,
but mabye even that might be pushing the envelope?..... :-\

I dont wanna start anything, But I?m working with a musician that have friends at Universal here in Brazil, and he told me that he already heard the new album 2 weeks ago I think, and he?s a GNR fan (I dont know if he?s like us lol)
When he told me this I said (of course): "nahhh, you just heard some demos that is on the net", but he keep insisting that is the studio album

Actually I dont think we should get too excited about this. Back in 2006 many promotors on the european tour claimed to know when CD was going to be released. So this mean ZERO. Same shit every year. Wait for a press release instead. : ok:

Sorry, but albums don't come out in 1 month or less unless there is a single on the radio and promotion already going on. Yeah, it's kinda hard to believe that for example K-ROQ -thing was ONE YEAR AGO. Lots of people (me including) were waiting for some grand announcement in there. All the rumors and speculation, "there are so and so many tuesdays left" etc. One year ago, goddamnit.

Ugh, I personally thought that if there's an announcement by the end of September, Chinese Democracy will be out this year. But the pessimist in me kept on saying that the earliest it's coming is 2008. Well, here's to an October press release  :beer:

Even though Radiohead recently announced that there album would be out in 10 days, I don't see Axl doing this.  There is NO WAY it will come out in October but I'm still hoping for an early December release.  That'd be the only month this thing would come out this year obviously....

There will obviously be several months of promotion for this album. I am beginning to fear legal issues holding up the release; the most obvious one would involve Axl and the label.

Although I am hoping for the best, i have no expectation of hearing this music this year. In fact, I would not be surprised if there is little movement until the summer of next year.

November 5th is the last day that a new album can be announced for release by the end of the year.  So we still have a good month before anything must be announced.

I swear every year Amazon post(s) a release date, and EVERYONE follows up on it!  At least this year everyone is following it up with the line "take anything that has to do with Chinese Democracy with a grain of salt."  I give it 6 months....

I gave up some time ago believing in a release. You know, even if a release eventually would come: it is already a flop now: the expectations will be too great from everyone (not only fans) ...so if it ever comes out: a good (normal) album will not be enough, a great album maybe enough..IMO it has to be a fucking historical sublime classic album!.... and you now what: that's fucking normal! (15 years work - millions of cost....what do you expect)

Anyhow, I'm already satisfied with the fact they have some new songs and I can hear/see them live. That's more than enough. CD is never comming, stop dreaming.

You do understand that this album has more chances to come out than being shelved, but you know nothing about what happen on the band and still says how it's never coming out and blah blah blah. I think you have a morbid wish to see this band failing. It's what media whores do too. We, as fans, should know what is just baseless speculation regarding the album and what is their official word. As far as we know, 2006 and 2007 were different, with the band being successful on live tours and having good reviews. There is activity. There is an album. We know it's on a stage never before seen.

Don't try to ignore all this. The album is coming, they didn't have all this work just to make fun of fans.

2008 will be a good year.

I don't know why everyone is jumping down The Prez' throat about his post. He said he's happy with where the band is at. It has been a long wait for the album, and I'm not surprised that some people have given up hope. Everyone wants it, but people have gotten their hopes up too many times to keep faith.

Its not about faith, but logic. Why would they get so far and not release anything?

Have you ever heard of "Songs from the Black Hole"? Bands have achived thier best work in the studio only to shelf it indefinately because of thier insecurities. Weezer have been on a downward spiral for 6 years, all the while thier greatest work has never seen an official release. Don't kid yourself, it is possible that we may never see CD. I hope not, prove me wrong Axl, but is is definately possible.

It is possible, of course, and I didn't say otherwise. The thing is to ignore all signs about a release and just spread this "never coming" bullshit.

We have many proofs of how the band wants to release it and how it's still being working out. It's not the same thing as Weezer until now, so why state this possibility as the only truth, specially on a board clearly positive about the band?

All I can think of regarding the current status of the new GNR album is the killer live versions of songs like "Better" and studio/demo versions of the same songs that I deem to be average of inferior.

If it took till 2 years ago for Axl to get back into original mind and shape and he needs to rerecord the album a 4th or 5th time to make it sound as great as it's been sounding live, that's fine. But tell the fans please so they don't waste their time speculating whats happening.

I believe there are a good number of people who feel the way The Prez does on this board. I don't know the board statistics so I can't give you a set number, or even a percentage.? I do know, however, that I do.

I come here to read any news updates or to see what rumors are flying about for entertainment. But over the years there were only so many news stories I could read about CD and when it might come out before I started feeling like I was a part of, "The boy who cried wolf." I am not waiting or expecting for Chinese Democracy to be released, but I do not see how that makes me any less of a Guns N' Roses fan. I love the songs and would go see them in concert again, but I have really distanced myself from hoping for a new disk coming out. If it comes out I will be really happy and certainly buy/discuss the album but hanging on to what I read here and in magazines just isn't worth getting worked up over for me.

I still do....but the lack of info and album right now in the yr 2007 is crazy imo

Little did we know at the time that the length between 'Use Your Illusion' and 'Chinese Democracy' would be four-times as long, but it too will be worth the long wait. Last fall when Axl Rose strove onto stage at the Allstate Arena, just outside of Chicago, I saw a man possessed with a determination and purpose I have only witnessed a handful of times in my life. It reinvigorated my passion for Guns N' Roses and I realized that if Axl put a tenth of that same energy into 'Chinese Democracy' as he did on the concert stage, then expect the unexpected. Whether 'Chinese Democracy' breaks records or sales plateau's is not the point. What is vital is that Axl Rose is an artist who deserves to decide when his art is ready for public consumption and I will forever respect his wishes even if it means it's another five-years before 'Chinese Democracy' see's the light of day. Guns N' Roses is all about breaking the rules and only they could have inspired me to ride a bike in the middle of the night for a pair of albums. When it finally does arrive I'll listen to it with the same intensity as I did sixteen years ago with 'Use Your Illusion', albeit I may drive my car to the store at midnight this time. I wish Axl the best and hope to take my psyche on another emotional roller coaster soon, but until then, I'm having a rather great time rediscovering "Locomotive".

i think its coming out the same day as angel down.  Angel Down would sell a lot more if so.  Axl obviously wants to keep helping Baz out.  It makes sense.  I dont think October is possible though.
