I was on the floor last night.  At the end of Paradise City when Axl throws out his microphone I got the Microphone.  There was a huge fight for it, because people thought it hit the ground.  So there were like 20 people on the ground looking for it.  I just quietly walked away.  I knew from the Vegas shows that security comes to take it back, so I got the hell out of there.  They walked right by me to the madness of people on the ground looking for it.  Luckily, for me it was dark.  Anyway, I am going to the Sunday show as well.  I will be at Mustang Harry's all day baby!!!  I love NYC.

Back in 1993 when i got to see GnR (complete with Slash + Izzy as Gilby had messed his arm up) at the National Bowl (an outside gig) during the UYI tour. At the end of the show, Axl ran at full speed towards the front of the stage and launched the (cordless) micro phone into the air towards the audience. It traveled quite a distance. The funny thing was, it was still active, so the speakers were playing the sound of a microphone wizzing though the air  :hihi:

I was in the first row of the upper bowl. I had a good view of it going through the air. That's about all I had a good view of. That and Buckethead being a complete retard during PC.

I'd seriously suggest you give the microphone back...I may just be paranoid here, but I'm sure Axl would want the mic back. I'd hate to see any shows get cancelled because you stole (Yes - technically what you did was steal) Axl's mic.

I'm not so sure they're too worried about it.....but you probably shouldn't have proclaimed your guilt on the message board haha.  Take it to the show on Sunday and see if it still has the same frequency and just start singing mid Welcome to the Jungle.  Remember Bon Jovi uses Duracell in his wireless mics!!! I caught the microphone and just walked away.  Some of you people are crazy.  I just call Axl up and give it back to him.  It looks like a $50 microphone anyway. 

We were looking forward to the 12th May show to found out who the new guitarist is.
I dont know about you guys, but I'm looking forward for the tomorrow's show to see what happens with the mic!   :yes:

I was at the Vegas show at the Hard Rock on new year's. He whipped that fuckin mike like he was John Elway and hit this woman next to me in the face. She was bleeding all over the place. Guns N' Fucking Roses!!!!

I've read some funny threads before, but this has to take the cake.  Someone throws a microphone into a moshing insane crowd who were just going crazy over PC, and you actually think he would expect to get it back.  The mic flew right over my head (wish I was 7ft tall last night) and the only reason security came was to pick up the nutty people swimming all over the beer soaked floor to try and grab the mic. 

Now I wonder if we should tell the lucky bastard to give Brain's drumstick back too..   :rofl:

Those of you who seriously think he should give the mic back are legit headcases ... rockstars don't throw things into the crowd and expect to get them back (except maybe when Zakk Wylde throws his priceless guitars into the crowd, but he's a drunk idiot).  Rockstars don't give a shit about their mics, even if they cost a thousand dollars.  Why would they?  A thousand dollars is nothing to Axl.

Maybe call it paranoia because I was involved in the Philly fiasco - but I just don't want to see my show canceled just in case this turns into a big deal. Didn't the guy who took the mic say that back in Vegas that security came back to collect the mic after the show? Who's saying that this was any different?

Lessy....for a start if your worried about losing a kic to the crowd you dont actually throw it out to them.  Its simple.  Plus im sure Axl can afford to lose a  mic.  And if the loss of a mic cancels the rest of shows then jesus...the guy shouldnt be anywhere near a stage if his mental state is that fragile.  Im guessing your gig is ok.

Ok, as long as we're on the subject of things flying off stage I have to ask this.  Friday night at the end of "My Michelle" I need to know what happened.  Did Baz throw his microphone after the song, or did Brian throw his drum sticks after?  Or neither?  Right after that song something came flying off the stage and hit me in the head.  Someone turned to me and asked if I got it, and I was really confused, and he said Brian had thrown his drumsticks.  But it didn't make sense why a drummer throws his sticks in the middle of a show.  Something definantly hit me right after that song and it definantly came from the stage.  So I'm just curious to know if anyone saw anything come off the stage Friday night after "My Michelle".

Dude honestly Brain has about 50 pairs of drumsticks in a holder with him during all shows.  Drummers throw their sticks out all the time, they break easily too.

You didnt get the microphone you lying bastard!!  I was at the show and Axl threw the Mic towards the drums ON STAGE; he did NOT throw it into the crowd.  So there is no way you have the Mic.

Maybe you're aren't talking about the same show.  He was referring to Friday night, and I can back him up because the mic went right over my head after PC.  There was a mad scramble on the floor, and then it was gone.  It was defintiely thrown into the crowd on friday though..

Well, here's the story behind the mic throwing...

Axl used to throw the mic, in order to hit the sound board. I'm not sure, but I think it was some bet, but again I'm not sure, he could be doing it just for fun.

After the first few times, they always had security going around searching for the mic and they always used to get it back.

They did lose a couple of mics when he first started throwing them, and after that most of them were getting returned by security in a bad condition.

That's pretty fucking funny...."Hey Axl, bet you can't throw it past 20 yards!"  Axl: "Oh yeah?! You're fired!"  He was originally aiming for the guy who challenged him! :rofl:

At the end of the concert where I was, Axl threw his microphone into the crowd. Now I heard from other people that were at concerts that this is tradition with Guns N' Roses? I never noticed that until I actually saw it myself. If it ois tradition, that's pretty cool! Like Michael Jackson throwing his hat into the audience after Billie Jean you know?
