Title: GNR "Happy-go-lucky" Mask Post by: G2N2R on September 22, 2007, 06:29:18 PM I really wasn't sure where to place this topic, so it's here for now, if someone wants to move it somewhere else after reading it and seeing what its about go right ahead.
I rarely take time to post on here, as my opinion really doesn't matter and I just come for news on the band, concerts, etc. But something that always annoyed the hell out of me was how you either have to be to the extreme right or left with regards to staying positive about the band or being negative. I mean, it's either your a "true fan" or you hate them and should leave the forum and stop whining. This makes no fuckin sense, sure sometimes you get the uninformed guy spewing bullshit.. and it's fine to tell him to fuck off and get a life, but to do that to the people who raise good points about the band and how we are STILL waiting on news or anything regarding the new GNR album is just rediculous. It's fuckin stupid to delete someones post if they bring up LOGICAL and GOOD points, regardless if they are negative or positive, it's good to question something especially if it's something you love. I saw Jarmo made a point about some other poster being a bandwaggon sports fan, only liking them when they win and then complaining when they lose. But... I'm not a bandwaggon fan and I always question what my team did when they lose. It's called constructive critisism, you can't get better at anything you do in life without it. Does the fact that I pick out all the things my team did wrong make me a bad fan? Fuck no, I still support my team. It's the same damn thing with this band, you can't say that everything they do, every fuckin thing, should go without some questioning or negativity. The band doesn't owe us anything, Axl doesn't owe us anything, but jesus christ we can shout to the heavens for some damn news if we want. It's only natural to want to hear something about this album as it's one of the most anticipated ever, atleast for me. So lets just stop with all this fuckin horse shit and get along, wether we have POSITIVE opinions or NEGATIVE opinions it shouldn't matter unless you sound like a complete retard. Afterall, we're all GNR fans : ok: Title: Re: GNR "Happy-go-lucky" Mask Post by: Jim Bob on September 22, 2007, 06:32:45 PM believe me, i'd LOVE for us to get an update. It would be great. but whining about it will do no good and we all know Axl isn't going to say anything until he is ready. so whats the point in coming here with a negative opinion constantly?
Title: Re: GNR "Happy-go-lucky" Mask Post by: G2N2R on September 22, 2007, 06:35:04 PM I'm not saying people who come on here and whine constantly about the same thing in a bunch of different threads, i'm talking about a negative opinion, any. It just seems if you question the band at anything at all you are called a whiner and told to fuck off and I think it's wrong and fuckin stupid.
And even IF someone does that shit, complaining about the same thing over and over, who gives a rats ass? Does it hurt to read it? Just ignore the fucker and move on. Because it's his forum and we don't really know what his motives are, I think it's best to give up trying to change it. People have been trying for almost this whole past year.
There are plenty of other good forums that will allow negative and positive comments. That said, the post was pretty good. I think it's just something you have to just live with. =/ Title: Re: GNR "Happy-go-lucky" Mask Post by: G2N2R on September 22, 2007, 06:38:53 PM As much as I agree, Jarmo has made it pretty clear that this forum is for positive opinions of the band. Thats kind of lame, but hey it's his forum so whatever, I just like to be able to hear both sides not just the blind faith bullshit, and thanks for the compliment on my post i'm a bit intoxicated so i'm surprised I got across what I was tryin to say, haha :hihi: Title: Re: GNR "Happy-go-lucky" Mask Post by: -Jack- on September 22, 2007, 06:42:01 PM As much as I agree, Jarmo has made it pretty clear that this forum is for positive opinions of the band. But that's what I've gotten out of it thus far. Because it's his forum and we don't really know what his motives are, Motives? What the fuck? I just don't like to be surrounded by miserable bastards who have nothing better to do than to whine about the band they "support". Here's an example: I love Pearl Jam. Let's say I wanna visit a PJ forum. I personally wouldn't wanna go to a site where people list everything they dislike about the band. Where people say it's not the real Pearl Jam because they don't have the original drummer. A place where the band is attacked for lying. Etc etc etc. If I want to read about how much GN'R sucks, I can visit other sites or read the newspaper. Do you get the fucking point or do I have to keep repeating it? /jarmo Title: Re: GNR "Happy-go-lucky" Mask Post by: Jim Bob on September 22, 2007, 07:10:33 PM especially when theres lots to be positive about as a GnR fan. 2006/2007 saw a lot of activity for our favorite band, when we saw virtually nothing after 2002. Many of us got to see the band, Axl was in 10 times better form both vocally and appearance wise since 2002, they made an official website, they do post updates on it pretty regularly, whether or not you like or care about the updates. It sucks the album is not out yet, but if you've been a fan all this time, you'd be used to it by now. What if it never comes out? Does it change all the things you love about the band that they've already done or take away any of the shows you saw?

I guess I should have used the word "reasons" not "motives"... just different connotations I guess. I ment to say "I don't really know his reasons 100%" I just didn't want to speak for you. Put words in your mouth you know? But it seems as though you cleared it up ;) |
