Click this link and prepare to laugh your ass off at some College Security Guard Brutality on some fucking college douchebag who's spending mom and dad's hard earned money to harrass guest speaker John Kerry about the "Skull And Bones" society.? If I was the guard, this kid would have been swallowing pepper spray for about 10 minutes.? It's great though.

"HELP! HELP! HELP!"

But what the fuck! He was arrested for that? Jesus what a country.. why didn't they just show him where's the door? But it was funny alright! :hihi:

The kid was an asshole, but the security guards were wrong and rather than act to diffuse a potential situation they created one of their own doing. Was the kid funny? No. Were the security guards' actions excessive and made in haste? Yes.

Disrupting the public.......I mean Senator Kerry is there to speak and of course answer questions (which he attempts to do), but the douchebag decides he wants to shout a barrage of questions to disrupt the speach. ?The guards initially were just going to pull him away from the crowd and show him to the door, but of course you know how police brutality is amongst middle-upper class youth and all. ?It ain't easy being a g!
Either way, hilarious.....and those fucking EBIDS aren't shit. ?They're the ones they used on Jackass to play Hot Potato. ?They don't even really shock you, just tense your muscles up and that kid is screaming bloody murder like he's getting a Rodney King beatdown. ?"DOES ANYBODY SEE THIS.........POLICE BRUTALITY, POLICE BRUTALITY" ?

But from what I saw he wasn't just shouting to disrupt the speech, he had the floor for a question which, however ludicrous and rude, Kerry was about to address. Had Kerry himself asked for the student to be removed, then it'd be a different story. But security jumped the gun on a non-hostile situation that Kerry probably would have laughed off, owning the smartass kid himself in the process. All security did was play with a match near a powder keg that could have easily resulted in a riot. It was irresponsible and reminds me of the Break.com-style videos of otherwise non-threatening women being tasered to excess by the police. Was this police brutality? Far from it. Was it a dumb fucking move on everyone's part? Yup.

The loser campus police acted like storm troopers. Something I'm sure many in this administration would love to have at their disposal during their Q and A's with the press.

The kid had the microphone, their is no law against stupid questions, and he should have been left alone. He acted like a total numb nuts which only escalated the situation. As an adult I would have stood my ground and demand to be left alone, without getting physical or going nutty. But he's a young guy, and he freaked out, as the situation really came out of left field (I blame the dipshit rent a cops.)

I had a very similar situation like that at about age 20 on campus, and I clocked the guy right in the face and took off running. Luckily, they didn't have tasers in those days.  :hihi:

It looks like those "security guards" were officers from the University of Florida Police Dept. If so, no matter how wrong they were, when given an order by them, he should have complied. Anything otherwise was resisting arrest. The press was there to document the entire episode. The old idiom "think smarter, don't be a martyr" comes to mind. Had he complied, he would have had a damn good case against the University for violating his civil rights ... he might anyway.

Fucking Crazy sums it up pretty easily there, but I'll add to it.? The kid escalated the incident each time.? The taser is used very effectively now to end problems without real injury.? It's been around 20 years along with the nova stun gun.? Which is what I believe was used here.? Pepperspray would have gotten everywhere and would you want the kid beaten? No.? He was given specific instructions and chose to not adhere.? The commments that were made; You mean to tell me that all of those cops couldn't handcuff one kid?? It doesn't hold water.? I'll let 8 people try and cuff me w/o any injury to myself? or the people doing the cuffing and see what happens.? I will tell you that someone will get hurt if I don't want to get cuffed.? ?Secondly the taser is a deterent for anyone who decides to pile on.? If you think that doesn't happen then your sadly mistaken.? The cops don't know if he's armed or alone or his true intentions.? Try slipping on their shoes MAN!? He was being arrested for interfereing during a public speaking or disrupting the peace which would have been a ticket.? He escalated it to resisting and probably battery of a peace officer.? It shouldn't have happened period.
When going to incite, you must indict.
I liked the way Kerry went on to answer him as he was being tased.? Way to go Sen. Kerry!? I feel bad for all the students that were sleeping during his speech and then awoken by the whole incident.

Oh come on, standing up to a higher authority? Those are college "police officer" security guards as you would call them.  The dude totally over reacted and caused a situation that was beyond funny.  He's screaming bloody murder when all he would have had to do is go, "oh, I'm sorry...I'll shutup".  For those who didn't read the article what happened, apparently he was asking stupid question after question and wouldn't stop to let Kerry answer or anyone else speak.  That's why he was removed.  Either way, I'm sure Abbie Hoffman here was quite alright after his tasering.  I'm still sticking by my "police brutality" is funny.

No, I read it.  But I've actually never heard that axiom.  Anyway, I subscribe to the WWGMLKJSCSAOAOAAFD (What would Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr., Stone Cold Steve Austin, or any other anti-authority figure do?) theory of standing up to unjust authority.   :hihi:  But, seriously, I believe that right is right, and that cops are very often wrong.  So long as there's such a thing as "driving while black," I'll have an anti-cop streak in me.

By TRAVIS REED, Associated Press Writer 9 minutes ago

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - A University of Florida student with a history of taping his own practical jokes was Tasered by campus police and arrested after loudly and repeatedly trying to ask U.S. Sen. John Kerry questions during a campus forum.

Andrew Meyer, 21, spent a night in jail before his release from jail Tuesday morning on his own recognizance. He had no comment when he left, and his attorney, Robert Griscti, did not return messages seeking comment.

Videos of the Monday night incident, posted on several Web sites and played repeatedly on television news, show officers pulling Meyer away from the microphone after he asks Kerry about impeaching President Bush and whether he and Bush were both members of the secret society Skull and Bones at Yale University.

University spokesman Steve Orlando said Meyer was asked to leave the microphone after his allotted time was up. Meyer can be seen refusing to walk away and getting upset that the microphone was cut off.

As two officers take Meyer by the arms, Kerry, D-Mass., can be heard saying, "That's all right, let me answer his question."

Audience members applaud, and Meyer struggles for several seconds as up to four officers try to remove him from the room. Meyer screams for help and tries to break away from officers with his arms flailing at them, then is forced to the ground and officers order him to stop resisting.

As Kerry tells the audience he will answer the student's "very important question," Meyer yells at the officers to release him, crying out, "Don't Tase me, bro," just before he is shocked by the Taser. He is then led from the room, screaming, "What did I do?"

Meyer was arrested on charges of resisting an officer and disturbing the peace, according to Alachua County jail records, but the State Attorney's Office had yet to make the formal charging decision. Police recommended charges of resisting arrest with violence, a felony, and disturbing the peace and interfering with school administrative functions, a misdemeanor.

University President J. Bernard Machen issued a statement Tuesday saying he requested the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to investigate the arrest. Officials said it would determine whether the officers used an appropriate level of force.

Machen said two officers involved in the incident were placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the probe.

In a statement issued Tuesday, Kerry said he regretted that a healthy discussion was interrupted and that he had never had a dialogue end in 37 years of public appearances. He also said he hoped neither the student nor police officers was injured.

"I believe I could have handled the situation without interruption, but again I do not know what warnings or other exchanges transpired between the young man and the police prior to his barging to the front of the line and their intervention," the statement said.

Meyer has his own Web site and it contains several "comedy" videos that he appears in. In one, he stands in a street with a sign that says "Harry Dies" after the latest Harry Potter book was released. In another, he acts like a drunk while trying to pick up a woman in a bar.

The site also has what is called a "disorganized diatribe" attributed to Meyer that criticizes the Iraq war, the news media for not covering the conflict enough and the American public for paying too much attention to celebrity news.

I had thought I had seen this in its entirety, earlier today on the news, but I now realized I hadn't.

Having now seen the entire thing I can say, unequivocally, that the cops are in the wrong.  Why do they have the right to pull him, by force, away from that mic?  They initiated the violence!  And why?  Because he was a bit of a dick to John Kerry?  Of course, if you listen to his question, it's clear he's a Kerry supporter (from 2004) who's upset that Kerry didn't further contest the election!  Ridiculous.  Of course, police departments have ridiculously loose rules of conduct, with which I'm sure they'll be protected.  And this kid faces felony prison time?

Reminds me of this incident at UCLA, where a kid was tasered...because he wouldn't show some asshole his student ID!

In more enlightened times, police weren't allowed to enter the university grounds/campus in Adelaide unless invited. The University was seen as a refuge unto itself.

It has been reported now that this kid has been known to be involved with getting on video or setting up videos for other people.  He has been linked to pranks before.  So I guess this was planned, he knew he was going to get in trouble (maybe tossed), but not what happened.  The student who is a co-leader involved with the planning of these speeches, says that he regrets that it happened but he got what he asked for because it ruined the session and gave everyone involved a bad name.  Who know what'll happen next?

1.) It was at the VERY end of the session, so how, exactly, did it ruin it?  As the kid (the fried one) himself says, "He got to speak for two hours."

2.) I have no idea how it gave everyone a bad name.  It gave some a-hole cops a bad name, but everyone?

You'd think a student involved with organizing such events would have a little more brain power than this one.

No charge.. Escorting him out, does not mean arrest... Escort him out for being an asshole...

What the hell are you guys smoking?? They were going to escort him out, and he flipped.... Every right to get arrested then..

Umm...if he's not doing anything illegal, then they have no right to "escort him out."  Cops aren't there to beat up on any random asshole.

Being loud and obnoxious isn't illegal.  Gotta tell ya, I'm just not a fan of the belief that you can be arrested because you ask a question that someone doesn't like.

A question?? More like QuestionS....If he woulda been calm asking these things, and not interupting like a douche, it would have been different..

Look I have no problem with the questions.... But when you have cops telling you to move along, do it... The whole time he was egging them on... Lucky for him they had tazers, becuase there could been some real police brutality there..

Kerry wanted to answer his questions and, once again, it's not illegal to be a douche, asshole, dickhead, buttfuck, or anything similar.  Now, had Kerry come into the aisle to knock him on his ass, then THAT I'd find funny.  But six cops holding him down and tazing him?

.... But when you have cops telling you to move along, do it...

Why?  He's a student there.  He has every right to be there.  They have no right to tell him when HIS question is finished.  I understand why they were there, but this guy was no threat to Sen. Kerry or anything like that.  It looked to me as if the mic was in the middle of the room.

The whole time he was egging them on...

Yes, his protests of innocence must have really pissed them off.  Cops HATE it when you say you're innocent and beg for them to not harm you.  He should have known better.

Lucky for him they had tazers, becuase there could been some real police brutality there..

Indeed, how lucky for him.  If I'm exercising my freedom of speech, I consider myself lucky if all I receive is a good tazing from some two-bit high school dropout turned campus cop.  Had they used sticks or guns, I'm sure another excessive-use-of-force apologist would say it was justified.

Disorderly conduct my friend is illegal....

If the practice is one question, his was over... These guys get protestors and shit all the time... When he was getting restless they knew where he was going with it...

Yes, his protests of innocence must have really pissed them off. Cops HATE it when you say you're innocent and beg for them to not harm you. He should have known better.
::)

Resisting arrest, saying 'get the fuck off of me'.. If he woulda stayed still it would took one guy and zero tazers

Again freedom of speech and being disorderly 2 different things... if he asked these questions in the proper manner, we wouldnt be talking about this... So arent ya glad they did do what they did?  :P  :hihi:

He wasn't disorderly until they laid hands on him.  I wonder (seriously) how many "crimes" are started by dickhead cops bullying people?  The one who tazed him, at least, should be fired.  But he/she won't be.  Another victory for order over freedom!

Why? He's a student there. He has every right to be there. They have no right to tell him when HIS question is finished. I understand why they were there, but this guy was no threat to Sen. Kerry or anything like that. It looked to me as if the mic was in the middle of the room.

Who give a rotten fuck if he asked to many questions?  That is not disorderly conduct.  He wasn't a protestor.  If you listen to his questions, about allegations of vote fraud, it's clear that he's not some anti-Kerry advocate, but likely a Kerry supporter who is bothered by what he sees as the Kerry campaign's failure to pursue those allegations.

Yes, his protests of innocence must have really pissed them off. Cops HATE it when you say you're innocent and beg for them to not harm you. He should have known better.

Again, things that began after the cops decided he wasn't allowed to speak and initiated contact.  Why should someone being wrongfully arrested be forced to stay still?  Cops are allowed to wrongly arrest you, but you can't say "get the fuck off me" and "don't taze me"?  BS.

Yes, the "proper manner" is very important when asking questions of authority.  If more shared that view, we'd all have English accents.

Anyway, neither of us is going to convince the other, and we're about to start reiterating our points (if we haven't already), so...

(a) Offense defined.--A person is guilty of disorderly conduct if, with intent to cause public inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, or recklessly creating a risk thereof, he:

engages in fighting or threatening, or in violent or tumultuous behavior;
makes unreasonable noise;
uses obscene language, or makes an obscene gesture; or
creates a hazardous or physically offensive condition by any act which serves no legitimate purpose of the actor.

(b) Grading.--An offense under this section is a misdemeanor of the third degree if the intent of the actor is to cause substantial harm or serious inconvenience, or if he persists in disorderly conduct after reasonable warning or request to desist. Otherwise disorderly conduct is a summary offense.

(c) Definition.--As used in this section the word "public" means affecting or likely to affect persons in a place to which the public or a substantial group has access; among the places included are highways, transport facilities, schools, prisons, apartment houses, places of business or amusement, any neighborhood, or any premises which are open to the public.

Resisting arrest
iResisting an arrest is a misdemeanor. It is also a misdemeanor to interfere with an officer while he is engaged in official duties. Resisting arrest typically comes in the form of an arrestee physically struggling with an officer as he tries to place on handcuffs, or when the arrestee struggles as he is being placed in a patrol car or jail cell.

Interfering with the duties of an officer typically occurs when a person attempts to physically restrain an officer to prevent the arrest of another, or when a person is verbally abusive or taunting an officer as he is engaged in his duties.

BTW:The police taped the whole booking process and the student supposedly said he did it to get a rise or in half protest and it was his intent to do so and that he also knew that the police were doing their jobs, and he knew what the consequences were.  We'll see when it goes to court or when the law suit is presented.

What was odd about the footage:

When the student was on the ground the police weren't holding him down at all, he wasn't thrasing about in any way, or yelling at that stage. There were about 5 cops kneeling around him but not restraining him.

In order to use the taser, it has been reported that the police had to implant barbs in his chest first.

I caught a whiff of sadism there....

After watching the full clip of this...are you fuckin' kidding me?

A student asks a simple question, albeit controversial, then gets cut off and subsequently arrested, then tased with 20.000 volt. For what?

Then you're gonna say "he was obstructing justice, resisting arrest. it was all in within procedure".

Well of course he's obstructing 'justice'. Who the fuck wouldn't when you're being grabbed for executing your constitutional right. And when being tortured is part of the procedure I ask you, what is wrong with this picture?

It took you a year to come back with that?  Wow, bring back dead posts much?  This shit is still funny to this day though.  That kid was a threat to national security! HAIL HAIL!
