Title: Peoples single least favourite moment of any GNR song
Post by: Irish gunner II on August 15, 2007, 12:26:09 PM
Well seeing as my thread about the favourite part of any GNR song went well enough.

My personal least favourite part of any GNR song, is the phone part on heavens door. Sorry but I cant understand why it is in the song. It takes away from the song IMO

And while this isint an actual music part of a song. The way NR is played live is much better than on the album. The way the song stops and then starts up again for the outro is brilliant. The gap isint as long on the album.

And the outro for sweet child as played on the Illusions tour was a disgrace, ruined a perfectly good song.

I agree, that is just cringe-inducing.

Mine would be the "damn bunch" part of the Bad Apples chorus.

My world was to me one of those moments like , why would THIS band do THIS. It's like putting on Good Charlotte and hearing a southern rock blues jam session , just makes you go  :o lol. BTW I love how you quote it just how duff says it hahah may, hay!"

A couple of them have already been mentioned

The choir and telephone crap at the end of KOHD

Duff's vocals on So Fine, they basically ruin what is a great song musically

The vocals/verses on Get In The Ring, though the music and the rant make it worth listening to

It is kinda somewhat annoying , but jesus christ the man could burp and it would probably sound amazing hahhaa. But it shows his ability to hold a note , and damn good one too!!  :peace:

I guess the only part I can think of right now is the acoustic guitar in Think About You but I don't dislike it as such, just not crazy about it either.

My World is alright, My least favorite moment(s) are:

Live- The horn/Keyboard/harmonica solos (Move to the City/Bad Obsession during UYI Tour)...honestly, no one comes to the show for that, I'd rather see the core band play.

Songs- Don't have one, they're all integral parts of the songs.

I actually think the trumpet part goes really well with that song and normally i hate that sort of music.I do agree about the telephone bit in KOHD though and do you mean live for the sweet child of mine one cos i hated i way axl sang it back on the illusion tour when he ended it like that.

I wouldn't necessarily classify this as my least favorite part BUT, the first few times I listened to TWAT I felt that there should be more vocals or another verse or something at the end of the song.  Don't get me wrong I love the outro solo, brilliant.  I just felt Axl could've joined in a little more kind of like the ending to Coma.

Not really a least favourite moment, but Coma might be better with an ending that's less abrupt.

That would probably be mine, actually the whole song, live, during the UYI/Get in the Ring tour.

Another one is....and I know by saying this, I'm probably about the only one....but the recorded version of Rocket Queen, with the "chick being laid" part.  At this point, I figure - well, it was probably true, but for years I took it about as seriously as the story about the scream in OP Roller Coaster.  I always figured, "yeah, right.....sure, whatever".  In any event, I'd rather here the live version of the song.

Damn, same for me too. The screeching guitars and vocals go on for about a fucking minute. Thank goodness it's at the end of the song.

I think it was Gilby who was in the band by that time, but yea you can't hear the rhythm guitar.

I hate the order of the tracks on UYI II. My least favorite part of any guns song is the intro to "So Fine" I hate listening to "locomotive" only to have it spoiled by the opening notes of "So Fine"

I think someone mentioned hating the horn and harmonica solos during the live sets, but those are brilliant and beautiful compared to the drum solos. Who the fuck actually likes drum solos? They are insanely boring. As far as studio goes I don't like the acoustic guitar under the chorous in "think about you" and "my world sucks" from start to finish.

Yeah, it's fucking embarassing to me.

My least favorite part would be in You Could Be Mine.

The special effect or whatever used at the end of this verse.

You've gone sketchin' too many times
Why don't ya give it a rest
Why
Must you find
Another reason to cry

And the deep voice used in such tracks as Locomotive, Pretty Tied Up, etc....

AHH the deep voice is weird at times the worst IMO is the bad apples choruses.....

i would choose the talking at the end of breakdown. i think i'd preferred it to end without the talking and just the instruments maybe.

Yeah, are they talking about Cool Ranch Doritos and a salad dressing made out of that (that would be sweet by the way), or are they talking about Ranch dressing being cool?  Inquiring minds want to know.

-begining of So Fine, it sounds SOOO much like KOHD.
-...Arms Around A Memory where duff sais "johnny, what color were her eyes, oh she was wearin shades"(duno if that was like in the original, but i dont like that part at all)
-and in Get In The Ring where it said "weighing in at 850 pounds Guns N' Roses" i know it really makes the ending of he songs, but i just dont know if i like the way he sais it or what, just something about it is weird.

I love all of those songs though
