I would say it is almost a given that if the band is active at the time of RIR 08 then they will play .

Yeah i think it could happen   the CD could be out and it will be a big thing!

i was talking about the promoters. they need photos of the current line-up. and the gnr camp hasn't released at least one photo session with this line-up. they should.
anyway, it's a long time until the next rock in rio. let's wait and see

It might be because Sting would probably be playing with the Police.

Good, but 2 motnhs ago there was press act, and GUNS N ROSES were not mentioned as bands scheluded to play Rock in rio 2008.

yep...that is last year's line up. Meaning there's no reason to think they will play Madrid. And yes next year's RIR will be in Lisbon and Madrid at the same time. So I'm hopping Lisbon is GnR's choice if they do play at RIR 2008  :hihi:

That's why GNR didn't play. They were set to go to Rio, not Lisbon.

Didn't they play at the last RIR? What was the net cast  I saw on aol?

RIR 2008 will take place between Lisbon and Madrid. There is only one artist confirmed, the Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz and the rest of the artists are rumoured to play but not confirmed.

Only one Spanish act has been confirmed so far.


So it's a bit too early to say GN'R will definitely be there....

i think it means we will see.  only one artist is confirmed so far.  considering GnR's track record playing RiR, its not far fetched to think they might end up on the next one.

hopefully the band will be touring europe again next summer... cant wait to catch em again.

No... it will be in Lisbon again? ;D and I?ll be there... for the third time? ;)


update: I didn?t know this new RiR edition would also take place in Madrid!  :o lol I?m kinda lost... oh well  :no:... Anyway, I really hope they keep great bands going to Lisbon, like Metallica... :drool:

Its funny. Every year there is atleast 1 thread each on Guns playin RIR and the VMAs. I just find it amussing that people automatically think GN'R will be there coz they have been there before.

It would be awesome if they did do it but I would like to see them play something like the Big Day Out. Robin said he would like to play it again coz he had a blast in 99 or 2000 whenever it was.

Hmm, I?ll cross fingers for them to come to Spain . That would be great but we probably won?t know untill the date of the festival is close. Right now it?s too soon to know it yet, it?s like one year left so ...

Oh, I forgot to say it in my other post, the reason why there?s only one artist confirmed and that it is confirmed so soon is because this Spanish singer ( Alejandro Sanz ) is going to sponsor/support the festival or something like that.

I guess his point is that
as he heard Roberto Medina say after RIR '06 that GNR would play at the next RIR too,
although the year and the location have changed after that, he's hopeful about 
the topic. Am I right?

Do you have any source for that? I saw an interview in portuguese TV with Roberto Medina after RIR 06 and what he said is that GN'R is his favourite band and that for him they would play every RIR, which is very different from "GNR will play RIR '07"...
Anyway, you may have heard that from a different source...

It's definitely possible that they'll play, assuming that the "finishing touches" on CD don't take long, so that by then they can be gearing up for the album release and another  ::) world tour, maybe this time will be the charm.

I think it's more likely that they will be at RIR 6 then CD being out in stores.
