Title: 1992 Axl interview in RS - link.
Post by: Howard2k on August 08, 2007, 10:41:36 PM
Excellent interview.  Sorry if it's a repost.

http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/15808548/axl_rose_the_rolling_stone_interview

Let's say a fan stopped you on the street and said: "Listen, I bought all your records, but I'm sick of your bullshit. I come to a show and you're two hours late, and I have to work the next day. You don't give a fuck about me."

If I didn't give a fuck about them, I'd come out and do a shitty show. I'd come out and tell 'em to fuck off. I'd sit down, sing the songs off-key and just not care. But I do care, and I also care too much about myself to do that. It's confusing to me that people go, "Well, I have to work in the morning." If you were getting laid, you wouldn't be so worried about what time it was. I know it's complicated, but so is getting onstage. And I'm sorry. I try to make it up by coming out and doing a good show and explaining as much as I can about what was going on in my head and why we weren't there.

I really think that the next official Guns n' Roses record, or the next thing I do, at least, will take some dramatic turns that people didn't expect and show the growth ----

That statement may still hold true, very in depth interview.  A lot of times we forget that celebrities are real people and sometimes deal with real shit.

Just so we're clear on this. On this issue of time and having to be at work/somewhere the next day, Axl's comparing getting laid and being at a concert on the same level??  :hihi:

I don't think so.

Thanks for updating Adz.

For the others - like said, could be a repost.  It didn't look TOO recent (hence my comments that it might be a repost) but it was JUST put online by Rolling Stone.   If I'd known it was from 1992 I would have included that in the title, but RS made no reference to the original date.   So the words "Chill", "the", "fuck" and "out" come to mind.

Actually 16 years ago this site wasn't around ;)

But like I said - had Rolling Stone made clear the original publication date, I would have posted it.

i know what you mean i thought it was new too untill he started saying things about slash and nothing about CHINESE DEMOCRACY or anything to do with the new band.

It does piss me off kinda that it was old but if i hadn't have thought that it was new i would've never read it. Which is bad because i liked it. just to bad it was 16 years old. So for future referance DON'T DO IT AGAIN

:peace:

When Guns N? Roses graced the most recent cover of Rolling Stone to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of their landmark album Appetite for Destruction, it obviously wasn?t the band?s first time on our top page. Click here for three of their previous RS covers...

being a little off topic.. and talking bout RS interviews, here's my favourite!

http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/articles/showarticle.php?articleid=3

12 word-pages of very deep interview with the good old young axl! the interview touches almost all topics, fame, money, sex, drugs, controversy, friendship, rock n roll star image...  : ok: I'm translating it into spanish to bash my friends and girlfriend with some more axl's stuff

Old pictures that I'll always see

If we'd all just let them be

its 2007

Needful Things. "In a world where there's a Michael Jackson and an asshole like Axl Rose, anything's possible, I suppose," Henry said.
