Title: Rock N Roll , Can it survive?
Post by: RageNirvanaNIN on August 07, 2007, 02:25:41 AM
Let me give you some background info , I am 16 years old I've been playing guitar for about 4 years now and I'm in a rock n roll band. My favorite artists are GNR , Aerosmith , Zeppelin and Ac/Dc. We play our music loud , we party hard , and thats all there is to it. But we know what it takes to make in this business , a mesh of image and music which we have. We are willing to work and put everything on the line to make it big. There are many kids like this across the USA , across the world in fact , I mean me and my bestfriend's dream is to move out to LA as soon as high school is over , and then just make it big , work our asses off , get the name out , get music out , get attention and get somewhere. My question is what does everyone think of me and my ideas? Can a young rock band revive the current state of mainstream rock?

I really dont think any band will revive any style of music for a long time. There are too many bands and "Artists" being picked up at the one time.

I think that Rock is coming back but I cant see any band or Rock star sticking out like people such as Axl, Ozzy, Zepplin ect. I dont think there will be people caring what fred durst or the darkness will be doing in 20 years, like we go nuts about Axl and GN'R or Metallica or Ozzy.
The music indusrty is being killed by "fans" that will buy the fuck out of a single but will not listen to an album. And when a new single by a new act is out they will be the next best thing.

There needs to be a drought in all genres at the moment to revive Rock music in my opinion.

 :peace:

Why don't think you'll ever make it big? How old are you ?

Answer to the question , when I first got into music my favorite band was Nirvana , and I loved Rage as well , NIN kinda sorta , It just stuck with me through the years.

Cool cool I mean my outlook on life is if you persevere and are determined you can get where you want. So I'd rather think hey maybe I do have a chance on getting big , it makes me strive harder. To each is their own

There are plenty of rock bands that can have a career in music - and that should really be your aim.  The problem is that if the bands you are pitting yourself against are 70's & 80's stadium rock bands then you will forever be disappointed because the era of stadium rock is dead.

rock will never die :peace:

I hope the industri changes a bit
at this time and for years...black metal for example (real black metal) are being banned and boycotted by the industri for having the wrong messages.

Yes, they spew out things like dimmu borgir etc...those are allowed.
