i dont get the point in this, very different bands.

inxs were great, they had a great singer frontman and were pretty different.

and we all know how i feel about guns or else i wouldnt even be here. You cant compare these bands, musically.

It is an interesting question to ask though - it will give you an idea of the Australian scene at the time. INXS were GODS in Australia at the time and Guns N' Roses were held respectfully in second place. I think on the aussie charts an INXS song managed to bump off the huge Gunner No1 at the time......interesting tustle between two shit hot front men.

INXS were never anything special in my opinion. And that was formed before the whole "rock star" thing. I do think it's funny that when people talk about Hutchence on TV they say his death was a suicide, like he was depressed, when he really died whackin it.

INXS have certainly died a death though, they did that rock star thing, released a music video, did a tour, and dissapeared.

No seriously, Michael Hutchence was responsible for not letting a GN'R song reach No 1 in Australia. Much to Axl's chargrin! All in good fun rivallry! and all credit where credits due. Michael was an awesome frontman.

INXS were huge in the day. Although it is kind of apples to oranges.

Although it is kind of apples to oranges.

You're an orange.

Pop rock is what it is, and they're both very arguably on the same level.

Yeh, for Aussie girls at the time it was either Michael or Axl. Bon Jovi was considered to be the 'safe one', the one you could tell your mother about........

One was a pop band, the other was a balls to the wall, in your face, rock n roll lifestyle.

I think you might find that Michael singlehandedly lived that rock N' roll lifestyle........

But yeh, the difference bewteen the two was that INXS were a tight band in the sense that the brothers would have grown up playing music together............

INXS were ok, I saw them in '83 at the "Electric Cowboy Festival". Might have been '84.

"Oh is he more, too much more than a pretty face, it's so strange the way he talk, it's a disgrace!"

Further proof that there is no God, or that he's big on napping.

No. NO. I have so far been fortunate enough not to hear much of his "work." He was more of a half-assed television actor when I was a kid, his musical output was largely before my time.  :P

David Essex is great in Jeff Wayne's musical version of War of the Worlds.

I liked his brother more (Shaun) - played one of the Hardy Boys and had a great song out called "That's Rock & Roll"? or something like that.  :P

You lost me at "musical version of." If there are two of something and they both do the same thing throw one away, you don't need both. If there are two of something and one of them is a musical throw both away before the contamination spreads.

Nah, it is totally cool!

After all, Burton is the narrator. I will say no more.
