Title: VMA's in Las Vegas this year (no facts, just opinion) Post by: Speedy0587 on July 18, 2007, 06:11:55 PM I know this is talked about 10 million times, but do you think that since we have heard word about Guns concentrating on an album release that they would appear on the VMA's (either perform or just present)?
Axl seems to love Las Vegas so who knows?? Maybe even a commerical for the album would work well in late August or early September, when the VMA's are held. :) Title: Re: VMA's in Las Vegas this year (no facts, just opinion) Post by: saint seiya on July 18, 2007, 06:14:26 PM i thought axl loved NY, no wait, i though axl loved Malibu, no wait , I thought axl loved Rio.

They've done massive shows all over the world this time around to pretty positive reviews (apart from the usual boo-hoo where's Slash rubbish), Axl seems to be the happiest he has been on tour.
I think a VMA spot would be perfect, especially if the album is really going to come out. Lets wait and see. Title: Re: VMA's in Las Vegas this year (no facts, just opinion) Post by: greendog on July 18, 2007, 06:43:50 PM This is the best time for the album to come out. As with all the apparent 'perfet' times. It'l be out when its out. No one get hyped about something such as that because we dont know shit about what will happen. I wasnt around this board much when it was the other VMAs when they played with bucket... I was on others, but I remember people knew jack shit about them performing until last minute. Title: Re: VMA's in Las Vegas this year (no facts, just opinion) Post by: King Axl on July 18, 2007, 07:17:30 PM I think Axl would really dig playing in Vegas, but make no mistake, GN'R should appear ONLY if the record is right around the corner.
Title: My optimistic view Post by: burden on July 18, 2007, 07:35:09 PM Tour ends 7/21
GnR comes back to the U.S. and turns the record in, plans release, promotion, etc. August - Announcement of album date, single released August - Go to Europe and support Rolling Stones at Sloan as rumored (not sure if this has been confirmed as false) and set up a few dates in other countries previously not visted. September - start big promotion push (VMA's, magazines, etc.) October - new single released, album released November - February - South American and U.S. tour Title: Re: VMA's in Las Vegas this year (no facts, just opinion) Post by: vicente on July 18, 2007, 07:40:22 PM That would be perfect. That's why it ain't gonna happen ;D...

Title: Re: VMA's in Las Vegas this year (no facts, just opinion) Post by: Robman? on July 18, 2007, 07:45:01 PM Vmas are usually july or august 31, right?
Title: Re: VMA's in Las Vegas this year (no facts, just opinion) Post by: Mr Cowbell ? on July 18, 2007, 07:54:41 PM Vmas are usually july or august 31, right? They used t be the first week of September, until 9/11 hit and they were postponed and a year later they moved them up as the threat of another attack on the anniversary might happen, they moved them up to the last week of August and they had had them in the last week of August sense then. Title: Re: VMA's in Las Vegas this year (no facts, just opinion) Post by: shannonhoon on July 19, 2007, 06:50:42 AM After stirring up the music world by announcing two upcoming high-profile gigs, Guns N' Roses have dropped another bomb: The band plans to release its new album in June.
The summer release date for the long-awaited Chinese Democracy, announced by the band's management company, corresponds with a headlining tour the band announced in October. The album will be the group's first studio effort since the 1993 covers collection The Spaghetti Incident? and the band's first album of original material since 1991's two Use Your Illusion albums. News of the release comes on the heels of last week's announcement that the band will play its first U.S. show in seven years at the House of Blues in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve. Singer Axl Rose is the band's only remaining original member. Along with veteran GN'R keyboardist Dizzy Reed, the band's current lineup includes former Replacements bassist Tommy Stinson, lead guitarists Robin Finck and Buckethead, rhythm guitarist Paul Tobias, and former Primus drummer Bryan "Brain" Mantia. They'll use their New Year's live debut to warm up for a January 14 appearance at the Rock in Rio for a Better World benefit in Brazil. According to the band's management, Guns N' Roses' Vegas setlist will closely mirror their set for the Brazilian festival and could last up to two hours. The Rock in Rio date is expected to be GN'R's last live appearance before the launch of their world tour. -- Tina Johnson source www.mtv.com Or maybe they start all over again, new gig at the House Of Blues at the end of the year?? :peace: Title: Re: VMA's in Las Vegas this year (no facts, just opinion) Post by: Pingouirose on July 19, 2007, 07:57:08 AM what's the point of quoting a very old article ? ???

To make crappy reality programming. Don't let that M in front of TV fool you. I doubt GN'R shows this year. Axl was just there last year. They usually run commercials in about a few weeks. If Axl/GN'R isn't listed, the only hope is a surprise, and with a surprise comes disappoint. So don't get your hopes up for no reason! If it happens, that's great. But don't put too much stock into it. Title: Re: VMA's in Las Vegas this year (no facts, just opinion) Post by: Robman? on July 19, 2007, 03:59:15 PM I read an article today, Britney Spears is supposed to make her comeback at the VMAs. With all the media attention on her, I doubt GNR would even want to perform. :hihi:
Title: Re: VMA's in Las Vegas this year (no facts, just opinion) Post by: Lord Kayoss on July 19, 2007, 05:57:11 PM I doubt Axl would want to rehash something that's already been done once. Unless the album was truly ready to go and the tour to follow it, not happen in the US before it. It was proven in '02 that doesn't cut it here, unfortunately. It's gonna take a hit record with a solid promotion to kick it off on the large scale in the US.
