Title: I Hate RCA
Post by: AxemanOnFire on July 13, 2007, 01:19:28 PM
So first Contraband doesn't go on my MP3 Player because of copy protection, now I finally get a copy of Libertad and it doesn't play in my stereo because it's an 'Enhanced CD'. ARGH!

I ripped my black version of ''Contraband'' into MP3 320 kbps without problems... I dont know about Libertad because I did not buy it and I wont buy it.

Anyway, copy protection is good. It helps the music industry.

That was sony's horrible root kit that's on early versions on CB.

The Iron Maiden reissues use the same format, and it's a pain cause it means I have to keep a burned CD in the case as well as the original disc.

The current version of iTunes has a patch that allows you to rip Contraband.

If you have iTunes, click shift and click import. Worked for me for Contraband.

Thats weird. Libertad plays fine in all the CD players I've tried it in, even the old beat up one in the kitchen and the one in my sisters car.

Yea my enhanced cd doesn't play on my home stereo either.  Plays in the car and in my mp3 player tho.   Kinda lame.

I ripped Contraband at release in iTunes with no issue.

It depended what version you had.

There were some copies with DRM software that didn't really do anything, some with software that tried to stop you from opening it in anything but their specilist player which didn't allow you to rip the CD and then some with software that completely fucked up peoples computers which got the company sued.

But as far as I can tell Libertad has no copy-protection at all.
