Title: Dave's On Fire
Post by: stolat on July 13, 2007, 12:55:43 PM
Now that I have cable, I am able to watch up to date Letterman! and I must say that his material is laugh out loud funny at the moment! Lots more sketches......and great moments in presidental speeches is..... very balancing.

Letterman has always had his own style. He's still great, but was much more quirky back in the old days. They really used to do some funny/odd stuff. One of my favorites was watching him drop frozen turkeys off the top of a building onto a trampoline below, and watching the rebound.  ;D

Conan's my man...right now, Leno's got the monologue and Dave's got the better post-monologue although both don't have the best interview styles imo.

I must admit I am very rarely up that late.  :'(

When I was 14-16 I'd tape these  late shows (It was Johny Carson then, not Leno) on my parents VCR and watch them the next day after school. On the weekends my parents would let me stay up pretty late and I'd just watch 'em "live".

Conan's the greatest IMO it's just my humor defined

I can watch an entire letterman episode and not even crack a smirk.  so not funny.

conan is much funnier.

i think Kimmel is even worse than letterman though.

Opening credits.
Segment One: Corporate Douche delivers monologue as scripted by failed sit-com writers.
Segment Two: All the jokes we didn't think of yesterday about something that was current two days ago. Perhaps in list form.
Segment Three: Interview with some actor who was last popular ten years ago, trying to sell us a movie ticket for this weekend.
Segment Four: Actor won't shut up. Host shills for upcoming musical act he's never heard of.
Segment Five: Some band plays. Smattering of polite applause. Singer joins host. Small-talk ensues.
Segment six:  Band's single is available on iTunes. And nowhere else. Our guests tomorrow night are no-one you care for. G'night folks.
End credits.

Bad sit-com reruns.

Infomercials. Who doesn't need a knife which can cut through their shoes?

Aah, television.

Me too, for a while. Then he gets predictable, then old, then really annoying.

I like Jay Leno much more  who  is more  entertaining and has a better range of entertainment and humor.

Dave was very cool when he was on at 4:00 in the afternoon; he has been down hill ever since.

Well, what I have seen lately has been quite fresh.

There was a great poems from Guantanmo sketch on last night.....

And Dave's sense of comedic timimg is always wonderful to watch.

I loved Letterman 15 years ago, but I don't find him so funny anymore.  I loved when he used to go out in the streets and mess with people.  :hihi:

Last night he was spraying people in the street with a huge hose - apparantly it's hot in NY!
