Two questions about Nightrain from AFD. Why is it cut short? No extended solo ...

Also, howcome when the play the song live Axl cuts out the part And Im looking for some .... so I can leave this slum .....

that's the answer right there.. imagine them fading out with the song, dimming out the lights and they sneak out quitely  :hihi: the crowd wouldn't get that they were supposed to cheer for the encore they would just "what the fuck"

It wasn't that they cut it short on AFD, it was just that Slash (and BBF nowadays) did an extended jam and extra chorus when tuhey did it live. They decided to do a a fadeout on AFD coz it sounds cool, i suppose. Why else?

The vocals in the chorus are done on two different vocal recordings - Axl does a call-and-return with himself. Maybe that's why he doesn't do the "And Im looking for some .... so I can leave this slum ....." part. It sounds like it could be difficult to do live.

I think you're reading the questions wrong.  Im not  complaining about the extended solo live, Im saying howcome it isnt on the AFD version, Id prefer to hear the studio portion of that song.

About the lyrics When he sings And im looking for sum .... so I can leave this slum, thats a great line which I think should be included when he sings live.

like when he sang it at rock in rio 3.....he would only repeat nightrain over and over without the call and return........and then lately I he does not even do that anymore.

This is what they did , they recorded the guitar part and Slash jammed over that for god knows , then they just faded it out. I'm sure someone has a copy of slash going crazy on the Nightrain solo lol.

Well, that's the way they decided to do it, obviously they disagreed with you...plus I think its better than going back into another "Loaded like a freight train"part like when they do it live.

I have a demo (maybe 2) with Slash doing the extended solo and then another "Loaded like a freight train part" its pretty much the same as what they do live.

No, he was  drunk only at live  shows, not in the studio. Axl's  rules  and all, you know?  ;)

The reason it fades on the record is simply because of time issues, nothing more. You have to remember this was still very much in the days of vinyl being mainstream, thus having to work with "sides".
