You mean 'Perfect Crime'? I'm not sure they wanted to release a film of the band falling apart. Would be aweosme to see some more footage though, I was waiting for that film for a while.

I think they filmed/recorded every concert-I remember Slash I think saying there are always cameras around because they were filming everything-would be interesting

Yeah there must be a ton of concert footage somewhere...just look at Dead Horse and Live and Let Die.  I want to see more footage from the Axl cam they had in the Dead Horse video!!!! :hihi:

of course there's footage enough.. but that doesn't mean there's an documentary ready.. people would have to go through hundreds of hours of recorded stuff, then editing and all shit you guys appearantly don't think of : ok:

I don't remember who said it, might have been Dave Grohl, but at the infamous 1992 MTV awards Axl showed up with his bodyguard (along with Duff who wanted to fight Krist-the bassist from Nirvana)-and had a camera crew with him-wouldn't you love to see that footage?

I thought for sure I read somewhere that the warehouse holding this footage and a lot of other video and audio stuff from the old days burned down during the wildfires back in 95. I think that's why it was so hard to find recordings for the Live Era albums. Am I remembering this right, or did I just dream this stuff?  ???

so that's true, Duff actually wanted to fight with Nirvana's bass player, I thought it's was tale, 'cause I read that on Rock mag. a while ago

it's true, but I don't remember Duff being mentioned in this particular story before. the way I remember it was Grohl saying that Axl showed up with a bunch of bodyguards.

It wasn't hard to find recordings fot the Live Era albums. Quite the contrary, it was hard to make a selection.

That whole Nirvana vs Guns is funny stuff...I read that "Cuntney" Love was screaming after Axl asking him to be the Godfather of their child. I also read that Axl had the opinion that she was trying to put a "spell" on him and went over with a shitload of Security+cameras and shit and said to Kurt "Tell your Bitch to shut up or I'll have someone shut her up" Kurt turns to her and says "Shut up Bitch" and Axl Stomped off. Afterwards Duff wanted to clock Kris and shit.

Whatever their was a cool interview in the Nirvana thread "Bad Sobsession" I read a while back that is quite biased (as are all Nirvana clippings) but fun nonetheless.

By the way I hate Fuckin' Nirvana so don't get on my case I would've paid good money to have seen Axl smack Kurt upside the head.

Cheers

I agree that they must have had a shit load of stuff but then why "Re-release the songs from Tokyo and the Freddie Tribute" I never understood that...

No, the problem with the Live Era album was because there didn't have many DAT recordings, like they had with the Tokyo '92 gig because of the vhs release. DAT are multi-tracks recordings, much needed if you want to mix it properly for a further release.

? ?Excellent info Voodoo but I had read that Del went through hours and hours of DAT material for the record...(Rolling Stone) take it for what it is worth.?

exactly. live era is great, but it was a buzz kill to get live tracks we already had from the freddy show and japan, and paris...i was hoping some odd ball live material like locomotive and a great live version of civil war......

I've been laughing for the past five minutes about this one. Heck, I'd think everything would be cool between them after Cobain told Love to shut up.

what i remember was something like 'tell your bitch to shut the fuck up or i'll take her down to the pavement' and kurt turned to her and said 'shut up bitch'

It would be priceless do see Axl beat the shit out of that geek-ass punk who caught a lucky break writing teenage poetry...

oh, do i hate Kurt Cobain and Nirvana...  >:(

A Nirvana fan told me a few years ago that Kurt Cobain spat on the white piano at the 92 VMA's. He soon found out Axl played the black piano and Elton John the white one.
Don't know if that story is true, like I said, I don't have an official source.

i do remember reading somethiong about "perfect crime" years ago, Would be an awesome thing to see. I personally think the doco was made and finished but axl stopped the release (kinda how he wanted to stop nov rain) Id bet he stopped it because it was to be released in 94 or later (after estranged) and after the band was kinda finished. Its probably sitting in axls vault with lots of other goodies...

Hopefully all the good shit will surface some day.

Kurt and Kris should tag team Axl and Duff haha, id buy that pay-per-view in a second! Not to mention vince neil :hihi:

I think/hope Axl will release a documentary after the band is finished with everything in maybe 5-10 years or whatever. When everybody is done playing just have all of the guys sign the papers and agree on what to show and what not to show and put it out with another greatest hits CD or a UYI re-release

Unless you meant "Kurt and Kris should have tag teamed Axl and Duff haha" then there's a problem, Kurts been dead for 13 years. Just saying just in case.

Year, it would be so fuckin' great could see it.Could any one of you imagine the kind of stuff they should be caught around all the tour?
I'm shore that so much of our questions about those days would be ansewred...
I read a lot about this documetary back in 92, include the words of Axl himself, and it looks like there was an inicial intention to release it as a movie.
I don't know what's happen or even if it was finished.
In fact there's a lot hours of footage somewhere being wasted.
Would be nice if some one involved with this material could tell us more about it.

As far as I know and have read, this thing was never finished or even really started.  I think they did a lot of filming but never really got it all together in the aftermath of the tour, because of the way everything went down at that time.

Talking 'bout Documentaries... Visit Robert John's new site at http://www.robertjohnphotography.com/ to see his "Guns N' Roses Photographic History Documentary".

Direct link to the documentary: http://www.robertjohnphotography.com/rjdoc/rjdoc.html

This is the video documentary that was filmed by Indigo Productions during the 'GNR - Use Your Illusion Tour'; it aired on the BBC worldwide and showcased Robert's work with Guns N' Roses. It features interviews with Robert, Guns N' Roses and other team members, along with live footage, candid offstage and studio cameos.

Great documentary about the greatest band and greatest photographer ever!

imagine being the person hired to watch all of the old footage before it got edited. so much cool shit that we'll prob never get to see.

also, about the whole duff/gnr thing. i read the book "heavier than heaven" and duff road on a plane with kurt a little before he killed himself and they talked and apparently patched things up if i remember correctly.

Matt and Slash talked a little bit about it on Camp Freddy Radio last year, and from what I gathered, it seems that the main reason why it wasn't released back in the early to mid 90's was because most of the band members got married and were probably worried about showing too much excessive behavior.  This probably stalled the release a bit, up to the point when everyone quit/fired, whereby making it Axl's call, and he probably doesn't care to release it any time soon.

But I can definitely see it being released, probably when the record company will try to milk anything thats left in the GNR name in the distant future.

yea matt and duff also spoke a bit about it on camp freddy raido last may. They said that they had over 400 hours of video that has never been used. But maybe one day it may come out they said.

What a waste. wouldent you love to see some of that one day!!!!!

The recorded history of this band is incredible.  Unfortunately most of it has been under tight wraps.  I'm looking forward to all the Cantor footage and this UYI era material would be great too.  To me GN'R have one of the greatest mystiques of all time.
