Title: Matt's drumming in She Builds Quick Machines
Post by: metallex78 on July 03, 2007, 09:40:00 PM
Anyone else notice Matt playing the You Could Be Mine intro after Slash's solo in She Builds Quick Machines? I thought that was kinda cool.

he does a bit of the same as in the intro to YCBM. but it's a fairly common rock drumroll so he might not have done it on purpose. sounds very good in both cases though!

I also wanna say that Matt's drumming on Libertad is the best Ive ever heard from him, he keeps getting better and better!
Contraband was a big step forward from his UYI drumming, but now he's moving even further, and I love it!

After Slash's solo you hear a drum roll by Matt where he uses the toms and kick drum in a similar style to the intro to You Could Be Mine.
It's not exactly the same, but you can definitely hear similarities.

Anyway, I think it sounds cool. Go listen to it again and tell me you can't hear it.

I think is similiar , but not the same, I think Matt's playing is OK in this album, I mean he has some cool stuff in it, but hearing the songs, I kinda picture him doing like more fills like he used to, But all in all, is very good.  : ok:

Slashs, Dave Kushner  and  Scott really SHINE on this album.

I listened to it before I posted my reply so I could hear wether there wasnt sumthing in there and all I hear is a drum roll using the toms which is pretty much all you got to roll on unless you wanna do it all on the snare

Love his drumming on Libertad, very good for sure.

His work on the new Circus Diablo record is outstanding as well, hard hitting and groove orientated.

Two albums released for Matt on the same day, fine work on both.

Listen again, it's toms AND kick drum. That isn't a standard drum roll.

I think that Matt's drumming on Libertad is generic and boring, just like most of his other drum work.

Seriously, he's a good drummer, but he's far from great.  Average really.  He is good live though, and he's excellent at keeping time and rythem.  His style is just so bland.
