Here Today... Gone To Hell!

Thank god this thing came out today.  Is anyone else sick and tired of reading/hearing about this all day and night. 

Some people are acting like they just found the cure to cancer with this thing.  Its a fucking phone for christ's sake!!!

actually i've only seen it advertise like about 30x a day so yeah kinda.

But i wish i had one :-\ those things are da shit :D

I'll probably be getting a damn good discount on one. I know the manager of the Cingular store at the mall.

don't plan on it, the phone alone is $499.95 and $49.95 to get it going. but if you can get one cheap lemme know :beer:

Though I love my iPod.

This thing will probably have to be recharged after about 10 minutes of use.  I want one, but I'm holding off on the first release because of the all the bugs this thing is bound to have.  That's just TOO many features for something to work perfectly.  Apple usually takes a few turns to get it right.

yeah, i could see myself getting one a few years, but i doubt it'll be an iphone, just a smart phone thats cheaper and on my network.

ipod's are different, they are hands down the leader in that technology.  other mp3s might be just as good (if not better) but ipod has that market cornered.

i think phones are a diff story.  we'll see.  curious to see if mobile advertising is changed by this.  i'm still on the fence about that one, i see a phone as too personal a thing for people to want it to get junked up with ads.

Yeah I know, but he knows my Dad n' I pretty well, I'm thinking that I'm going to hold off for 6 months and it'll be like a free phone. I mean, look at the razr.

$500 is an average price for a phone . I would like to  have one, but unfortunatly AT&T has a 5 year contract on the rights and that is not my carrier. That be said, there are phones out there that will do most of the things that the iphone will do, if not more. I use my phone for email, music, video, games, web browsing, and yes posting on this forum.

I can't believe the mile long queues for the phone and scenes like this:

Well, I'm sure that someone will find a way to "unlock" the phone eventually if there is a simcard in 'em.

Yeah, my favorite site has a call for out codes, but no one has posted yet.

I think AT&T's policy is to wait 1 year before they will issue the codes. That might be different with this one though since they have a 5 year exclusivity agreement.

The iPhone will probably enter self destruct mode within the week and a total recall will happen.

I'll wait.

I rarely buy anything that is a first year production-too many bugs to iron out.

It's all about the marketing, that's for sure.

Some of the best marketing IMHO is marketing to women for their wedding day. They have a life time of it, and after the two decades or so of saturation it pays the industry an above average ROI.

No...the people on eBay trying to hawk them for $1,000 is capitalism at it's finest.  Because let's be honest.  Doesn't standing in line for a few hours entitle you to a $400 profit?  ::)

But I did get one, and it's a miracle.  It packed all my boxes for my upcoming move, cleaned up my dog's shit, and turned my neighbor into NOT a fat piece of white trash!  : ok:

If they know they can make 400 bucks for being first in line, then yea, I guess they do deserve it, lol.

I've picked up cars at auctions and doubled my money in less than 3 days. I've done the same picking up cars from private sellers.

What is the value of anything? What sets the price? (In the case of the Iphone the answer is obvious of course.)

I work at the Apple Store in North Sydney - we won't be getting the iPhone for a long time yet but I can tell you this ...

The sales staff say this thing is teh shit, everyone will want one.
Everyone else here thinks it's a piece of shit, though they do love their iPods.

(c) tends to damage the name or reputation of AT&T, or its parents, affiliates and subsidiaries.

So, if I used AT&T, I would not be able to post this blog entry.

You know what? That sucks. Not as much as gleefully acquiescing to give all their customer data over to the Bush Administration in violation of the Constitution, or censoring Pearl Jam, but it sucks nonetheless.

I send random MMS clips to my mates all the time, bits of stupid movies, random people falling asleep on the train, whatever. A phone that can't record video or send MMS these days is truly a POS.

I use my phone to make and receive phone calls.  It does that pretty well.

apple is taking over the world...get used to it....the ipod is the greatest invention this world has ever seen....i have over 800 store bought cds(been buying them since 1992)....and now i can put them ALL in my pocket....and i can throw a few movies on there too....why waste time ripping the iphone?? you know by this time next year the iphone will be perfected into the greatest device ever....

Today's iPhone isn't all that great.

It lacks several things. But they'll get there eventually....
