Title: am i the only one who thinks the guitars sound kind of flat
Post by: guns_n_motley on June 29, 2007, 09:13:26 AM
theres no punch to the guitars on this record. Contraband at least had heavy guitars that had a punch to it.

the tone on some of the songs just comes as Flat to me.

I think the first half of the record is good, but the 2nd half is full of some filler. such as american man, mary mary, for a brother, cant get it out of my head.

overall, I think its a good cd, but it still fails in a few places

the songs are definitely missing something.    Can't put my finger on it quite.   Its like you can see the catchiness of the tunes but they leave you wishing for something more.  I think these guys have more talent then this album, they just don't have the chemistry.

clearly they were gonna have a rocking sound, then decided to pussy out to get a wider audience.

yes, he said that song had more power and crunch, the sound quality compared to the album prooves this isnt a proper mastered track, listen to the power of that song compared to the shitty tame songs off libertad.

I prefer Libertad's production really. And Libertad's songs. WAY better than Contraband.
