I Don't know. It's been a dream of mine to meet axl probably since I was six and realised while watching MTV that the only person who might be as cool as him was the guy standing on his piano playing guitar. But whenever I have met people at signings and stuff where it's kind of forced upon them it has never gone as well as say waiting for the end of a Misfits show and hanging out with Jerry Only or when I did the same for Gilby and he talked to me and my friends for a half an hour-Graciously. So I'm gonna say I wouldn't pay for a meet and greet but I would love to meet him after a show somehow.

i think its a good idea tho.  this way the people who are big enough fans and have the means get an easy opportunity to meet their fav band without battling crowds, lines, groupies, etc.  Its not like someone like Axl has the time to meet every fan in the arena.

I'm not willing to pay Axl himself in order to meet him, but if I was to pay someone to get me close to Axl, I would!  :)

thing is.. maybe "real fans" like paris hilton and people like that would meet n' greet the band.. i think it's better the way it's handled right now.. i'm glad someone like gunnerdownunder got to meet the band instead of a rich fugger u know

I would like to have an opportunity to properly meet any of the band members. Of course meeting Axl would be a crazy experience, but even an option to meet the rest of the band members somehow would be pretty great. As somebody else said, instores are a good opportunity to meet the fans and get things signed but its too forced upon. It's not the same as meeting a band member randomly on the street, or outside a venue.

VIP Ticket/Section for the show
Backstage passes for before show
After Party-VIP access for after the show

Not much.  It surely means much more when you just meet them randomly.

If it includes an after party GnR style, then I would dish out some big bucks.  Also there can't be that many at the party, it would dillute the experience.

If the money were going to a charity I might fork over some to meet him, but I wouldn't do it if the money were going to him.  I don't really like the idea but if people would pay to meet me, can't say I wouldn't do it!!!!!

Horrible idea.
It  would  be a superficial, commercial, shallow  nothingness. Another "obligation" for the band to fulfill. It  would be empty and meaningless  to the fans.

The specialness  of meeting the band is  that it is special, and not everyone gets  to do it. If it  all came down to  who has money to spend  to meet the band, then the specialness is gone and it becomes  an exercise  in padding the bank accounts of the band. Period.

Yeah, there is no doubt about it that I would give a kidney or even a testicle to meet the man.  Dead serious too... One of my ultimate goals in life is to meet Axl Rose.  Always has been, always will be until it happens.

For chicks, lets just say - it's not what you know but who you blow.  :hihi:

For example I was chatting to some chicks outside the Melbourne gig on Sat night before it started.  They looked pretty tidy which was why I was chatting to them.  ;)

Anyhow, they were telling me they had backstage passes so when I asked how they got them they told me that they worked in a strip club and someone from the tour crew (or promotor or something I can't recall exactly) had come in a previous night and handed them out to all the girls.

Keep in mind that at the actual meet and greet, Axl doesn't show up. At his and the bands party, there was a hot girl there and I was later told that she was a stripper. Basically too, if you are a hot girl near the front, you get into the meet and greet.. then at the meet and greet, if you get friendly with someone from the band, you get to the private party.

IMO it's pretty rude and vacant to get friendly with a band member in order to get to the private party. People that said they'd pay are politer and prouder on comparison.
