Richard responded on his comments on release of Chinese Democracy to fan...


BP of Chinese Democracy.com recieved this email response from Richard Fortus from Australia concerning his recent apparent statement of a Nov 20th release date.

"There is no release date. I've heard talk about that date, but it is all speculation - there are still details that need to be worked out. thanks, Richard"

Well, he never said that was the release date, merely that they were looking at it.

A firm release date will come as PR, not an off-handed remark after a show to a fan.

Details must be some negotiations with Universal and I think the record is done... 8)

A November release to coincide with a North American tour would be just swell : ok:

They have been working out "details" forever...Richard is just being diplomatic...his real response would be "I haven't got a fucking clue!"

why post this?  its not a "rumored" date from a store like HMV, its from a band member...

The point made in that post is still valid. There is no release date at this point.

Translating: $$$$... Universal... $$$$... Universal...

If the recording was really finished when anounced, it doesn't make any sense that those details are even related to the songs, their finishing or mixing. This all is supposed to be completely done by now. If the album is not fully mixed (and maybe mastered) yet, then we have some serious trouble behind the curtains... I wouldn't hope for a 2007 release under these circumstances. As always, we can only wait to figure out...

Finally, they're probably workin' on the biggest booklet in rock 'n roll history  :peace:... You know, try to think about all the people workin' trough these years on CD and you'll get a thanks-list of nearly 1000 people   : ok:

well, at least it's better than nothing.

but cmon, summer already started (5 minutes ago)... and still no date.
for an album that was coming out definitely in 2006, it's really been overdue.

its been overdue for about 6 years now....it was 99% done musically and 80% vocally in 2002 and dougie said it was almost done...here we are.....blah, blah, blah...bottom line, there is not date in sight and its not out...

I'm still really excited for Chinese Democracy, if and when it ever comes out.  But it's been over 1/2 a year since they (Axl) "supposedly" wanted to release this thing.  So he fires the person who is apparently responsible for that errror, and still over 6 months later we know jack shit.  Jack shit that really matters anyways.  What a F'ing joke. 

this is the most overdue cd in the history of music, what's waiting a couple more years gonna matter???

may he got into trouble saying that n that's why he is "responded" now.

i don't know if we are going to ever see this thing.  I have been really waiting for it since 02' when i saw them and have listened over and over again about rumors of a pending release of the release date of the forthcoming album that has had a hundred other releases dates that have come and gone.
