?Jackass? star sued over manhood in mousetrap
Perry Caravello says he was ?severely injured,? was never paid for stunt

LOS ANGELES - An actor is suing ?Jackass? star Johnny Knoxville, TV talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and radio personality Adam Carolla, claiming he was never paid $10 million for doing a below-the-belt stunt that left him severely injured.

Perry Caravello claims Kimmel never paid him for his work in the 2003 TV movie ?Windy City Heat.? According to the suit, Knoxville also promised to pay him to promote the DVD release of the film on Carolla?s show last fall if he agreed to place his genitals in a mousetrap.

?Plaintiff agreed to do so, and, much to his emotional tranquility and to his physical harm, was severely injured when the trap literally went on his manhood,? the suit contended.

Caravello also was humiliated when clips of the incident, which he says were filmed without his permission, made it to the Internet, his suit claims.

The suit, filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court against Knoxville and others, alleges fraud, negligence and unjust enrichment.

The suit claims that Caravello signed a contract with Dakota North Entertainment Inc., a company that Kimmel heads. But Kimmel, Knoxville and others never paid Caravello or gave him an accounting of profits and royalties from DVD sales of ?Windy City Heat,? the suit claims.

It seeks a total of $10.5 million in damages.

Calls to representatives for Knoxville, Kimmel and Carolla were not returned Saturday.

That reminds me of the lawyer in the Bobbitt case.  "A life is more important [dramatic pause] than a penis."

The pause is a lie?  Maybe that's just how I remember it.  Either way it was the weirdest thing I've heard a lawyer say.  :hihi:

The pause indicates he doesn't believe his own statement. Life vs. Dick, you know that's not an easy decision. :hihi:

i love jackass, and if this bloke was expecting money for doing a stunt there should have been a legal document made up, which obviously there wasn't. therefore i dont think that jackass should be responsible.. JACKASS RULES  : ok:

If this is true he does  not have a case. Before each show there is a statement that the stunts  should not  be performed at home something to the effect that they are dangerous and may cause bodily harm. So not only is the guy stupid beyond belief, he  also apparently can't  read.

Ok, then, it means the guy is just stupid. But what else is new  since America  elected Bush for President? In the words  of the Herald Tribune (London): "How can 58 million people  be so stupid?"

So this little  trick is petty in comparison.

He got what  he deserved.

Unless I'm misunderstanding, the guy isn't suing because he did the stunt and got injured, he's suing for breach of contract.  If he's telling the truth, then he has a contract that said he was to be paid to do the stunt, he did it, and they didn't pay.

I'm not saying I believe him, but who here wouldn't be really, really angry if they agreed to do some stunt for money, and the other person didn't pay up?  Even if it was an incredibly stupid thing to do, if he has a contract and he held up his end of the deal, he deserves to get paid.

I agree, but I can't imagine anyone (except, perhaps, those lads on Jackass!) who'd agree, contractually, to pay someone $10 million for such a stunt.  I have my doubts about there being a legal contract.  More likely, this guy is actually dumber than the Jackass guys, if you can believe it.

Hey, check out the link in The Jungle about Russian Roulette who put toilet paper up for sale on ebay and some idiot bid $11 million. Now RR owes $165K. So you may want to rethink the statement "I agree, but I can't imagine anyone (except, perhaps, those lads on Jackass!) who'd agree, contractually, to pay someone $10 million for such a stunt."
