Because they are dancing on the inside?
Because everyone else is jumping up and down around them?
Because their feet are glued to the floor?

mrlee, you sound like you've had a hard day!

Besides, the lead singer would have to stand still in order to hit the notes.

I think there was another band that made a really cool point of standing still whilst playing......

The Jet boys are young.....raw......and a bloody bit of fresh air on the aussie music scene!

Can't fucking stand them. Is that all Australia has to show for on the internantional music scene - a second-rate, half-assed AC/DC clone? They're as bad as Wolfmother. How about some originality?

There are much better Aussie bands than Jet. Try the original 'Jets' - The Screaming Jets. And The Butterfly Effect are great too.

Yeh, I just saw the film clip for 'All for One' on TV! R O C K S!

But the point of this thread is new rock bands - whatever your opinion of them, Jet are a new Rock band.

Well, to be fair they were a manufactured band, so management was always gonna be an issue at some stage.  They're a great bunch of musicians with a good following, so I'm sure they can come back on their own terms with new management if they want to.  Would be a shame for them to fade into obscurity.

Wolfmother and Jet are pretty rockin' aussie bands.

I'm not overwhelmed by either of them.

Jet have their moments, but their debut album was a little too ballad oriented, for me.  There ARE some good tracks, though.

Wolfmother seems designed to make people think, "Hey, this sounds like Zeppelin!"  Then you realize that, while it may sound somewhat like Zep, it's definitely not Zep.  That said, it's still more enjoyable than a lot of junk.

I'd recommend:

Beautiful Creatures
---Fairly new, hard rock band, great riffs, occasional Slash-style solos

Bullets and Octane
---Their music reminds me of Social Distortion...on steroids.

Chrome Division
---Motorhead style hard rock and metal (speaking of which, Motorhead's last album, "Kiss of Death" is also worth checking out, and the entire thing can be streamed, free and legal, at: http://music.download.com/fullalbumstreammotorhead/3600-8666_32-100947042.html?tag=MDL_listing_song_artist )

Gov't Mule
---If you want a musically superior band, this is it.

I
---Another Motorhead inspired act that put out a strong debut, last year

Kid Ego
---I'm not sure they're signed, but their stuff is pretty good hard rock

Kill Cheerleader
---Another new, killer hard rock band

Rattlesnake Remedy
---Barroom rock n' roll.

Supagroup
---Stupid name.  Good music.

yeah, I got that vibe when I first heard Matt Bellamy sing, but after listening to them through a couple of songs and after a while his voice wore on me and reminded me a bit of Freddie Mercury... and I found a new appreciation for what he and the group are presenting with their material.
I couldn't care less if he was straight or not (seeing as Mercury and Halford are two vocalists whom I consider to be the best of the best) He's got quite the set of pipes with an incredible range!

I'd agree with all of them too.  I was always anti Biffy Clyro, but I actually respect them for finally caving in and delivering a commercial sounding album.  They now sound like veterand (which in the grand scheme of things they probably are considering the shelf life of most new bands).

I truly hope that The Glitterati get some success from their second album.  I hear they are going to focus it on the US rather than the UK.

Kid Ego kick ass...I didn't know they had a new singer, though.  I always wondered about their singer being a tad chunky.  Clearly he was eating too well to REALLY be a rock singer, poor as shit and trying to make it.

Bullets and Octane just released a new album "Song for the Underdog" on iTunes.  It's pretty good.  Fun rock n' roll, and a good summer album.

Hendrix style guitar 2-piece band (no bass).? These guys get compared to White Stripes but I don't see it.? Other than the sound being bass-free:

Dude Rose Hill Drive are fucking sweet, thanks for posting about them. Black keys are also a really good band, I just found out about them earlier this year and I like them a lot.
