Title: More Canadian shows in near future?? Post by: chineseblues on May 20, 2007, 10:52:30 PM this email from Richard was just posted on my board, I have no idea if the dude who posted it was the guy who received the email or not.
Quote Hi Cody, THanks for checking in. There is talk about doing another string of Canadian dates but nothing confirmed. Our focus is going to be on doing these shows and setting up the release of the record. Can you send me a link to the forum? Thanks for your efforts and time. richard I asked about a rumor I heard of them coming to halifax .But release of record is cool to hear Thanks FortusFans.com http://www.thenewguns.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=2930 Add to that the fact that there are quite a few rumors floating around Newfoundland, Canada that the band are looking into booking a show here in August/September according. Title: Re: More Canadian shows in near future?? Does that mean that the band is going to come onstage and shout "BOO!!" at the crowd?? ???? Canada isn't TOO far away from me..... Title: Re: More Canadian shows in near future?? Title: Re: More Canadian shows in near future?? Post by: downzy56 on May 21, 2007, 04:38:49 AM I love the attitude around here, and I'm starting to understand the angst our of our Australian/New Zealand brethren. The fact that GNR are playing period is exciting, whether it comes with news of an album release or not. Get over yourself. Accept the fact that certain people who live in the prescribed area are happy to hear news of a GNR show. The world, and GNR, does not revolve around you.
Cheers, Andrew Title: Re: More Canadian shows in near future?? Post by: F*ck Fear on May 21, 2007, 08:07:38 AM Back to Toronto would be nice

Fortus doesn't normally say something unless he thinks its the truth at the very least... Lets hope hes right, and that at least they are going/have filmed videos for the singles (thats the bit that I cant wait for the most, its going to be sweet having gnr vids) Title: Re: More Canadian shows in near future?? Title: Re: More Canadian shows in near future?? Post by: Jay Tea on May 22, 2007, 01:13:27 AM what would make sense is after the upcoming dozen or so shows they'll play this set in South Africa and South America which they haven't played yet wit the current line-up, then release CD, then play North America and Europe again supporting the album.
I expect to see them again this fall here (USA) not long after i get to buy Chinese Democracy. Title: Re: More Canadian shows in near future?? Post by: thesloth on May 24, 2007, 01:57:06 AM Considering all the GnR shows sold out in Canada I am not surprised. Also from the reports and the show in Peg that I was at the Fans in Canada seemed more open to the all night party system then many of the U.S. venues. I would expect if GnR comes through Canada they will hit every province. Hard to say if Vancover will be in the card but some other cities are big enough. I also think that they will come to either Regina or more likly Saskaton because they have a larger venue. I already am saving up for the next GnR road trip regardless cause the show in Peg was truly amazing

By the time the show started and last minute tickets were sold it could have very well been sold out as well. Title: Re: More Canadian shows in near future?? Post by: irishtwilight on June 03, 2007, 11:56:25 PM Any word yet on them ever playing Montreal again? It would be a huge show for sure.
Title: Re: More Canadian shows in near future?? Post by: JeffK on June 04, 2007, 12:07:39 AM They sold out 5 Canadian shows. Halifax, Quebec City, Winnipeg, Calgary, and Edmonton. Canada LOVES their GNR!!
Title: Re: More Canadian shows in near future?? Post by: kyrie on June 04, 2007, 02:01:48 AM I think Halifax and Calgary were the official sellouts.
Toronto, Ottawa, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Quebec City were damn close, and the St. Johns NB show was the only smaller one (small area though so cool of them to hit it). But a non-sellout in Toronto was still about 18,000 people! It's a big arena. If GNR are going to do another leg in Canada, I'd suggest: London, ON (sold out in 2002) Hamilton, ON (close enough to Toronto to get some people to drive. Tool is playing 2 nights there, their first show sold out) Montreal, QC St. Johns NFLD Regina, SK Vancouver BC and/or Victoria BC (Dunno if Vancouver would be possible after 2002) Title: Re: More Canadian shows in near future?? Post by: JeffK on June 04, 2007, 02:07:32 AM Not Regina...I live in Saskatoon and we have an arena that holds 15,000 for concerts. Regina's arena only holds about 5,000. If they come through Saskatchewan it will definately be Saskatoon. I also went to the Edmonton show in December and I think it sold out the night of the concert if I'm not mistaken...But if it wasn't technically sold out it was close enough.

Regina has Mosaic staduim we can fit 40 000 there ;) Your right if GnR was to play it would be in Stoon although I think 15 000 is a little high for seating I could be wrong but I thought it was aroun 10-12. The Brandt center is about 7000 for shows. Title: Re: More Canadian shows in near future?? There is no St. Johns NB - St. John's is in Newfoundland, Saint John is in NB. Also, regarding it not selling out - it would have if they had not booked Halifax two months before they announced the Saint John show (we all went to Halifax!)
