Title: Comparison between Slash, BucketHead and BumbleFoot
Post by: NicoRourke on May 17, 2007, 02:22:34 PM

Someone did this little editing of GN'R solos played by Slash, Bucket and Ron. Songs selected :

#1 - You Could Be Mine
#2 - November Rain (end solo)
#3 - Nightrain (end solo)

http://youtube.com/watch?v=XVV0qlukPVw

In my opinion :

#1 - And the winner is ... Slash !
#2 - And the winners are ... Bucket & Ron !
#3 - And the winner is ... Ron !

You ?

YCBM - Slash
NR - Bucket
NT - Ron

I really liked this comparison, as it made me realize a few things.  First, I really like Slash's solos more than the others on the low parts of the solo.  Second, I've always thought the NR solo was a bit overrated, as it isn't really a solo in the normal, improv sense.  It's a bunch of mini-solos in between a structured, repeating high wailing part.  I think this vid showed that, as it was the song where the solos sounded the most alike, IMO.

You Could Be Mine
1.Slash - Slash is #1 because he does it pretty perfectly. Adds that bluesy hard sound.
2.Bumble - Keeps the feel of the original and adds some nice shred.
3.Bucket - Surprisingly Bucket actually sounds like he messes up quite a bit in the beginning

Novemeber Rain
1.Buckethead - Brilliant. The only one to shred out that finale. Sounds great.
2.Bumble - Could have caught up to Bucket but the last 10 seconds put Bucket ahead. Still sounds great.
3.Slash - Just seems a little slow for me.. think I've gotten used to the faster style. Not much going on.. no real finale.

Nightrain
1.Bumble - I never thought I'd put something over Buckets Boston 02 Nightrain solo but Bumble just rocked it! I give it to Bumble because I think if the recording was clearer you could really rock out to it. As much shred as Bucket, the dirty feel of Slash, and much more creative than both. Very close to being a monster solo. Just missed it.. but soooo much potential. That's why its #1 to me.
2.Bucket - This solo is just perfect. But really, Ron's just reaches a little higher. Sounds amazing though. My favorite Buckethead GNR solo.
3.Slash - Very choppy sounding... which is good. I liked it.. all three guitarists did well, but Slash is at the bottom for me in this one.

Check this out, i know it's not official or anything to do with this video. http://www.digitaldreamdoor.com/pages/best_guitar-metal.html    If you can't be bothered to go on it or whatever basically it's 100 greatest hard rock/heavy metal guitarists, slash comes 42nd, bucket is 6th and bumble is 1st

Bumble is 1st?  Wow.  I'm not familiar with this site, but they have a shit-ton of rock lists, which I love because they give me an opportunity to waste time and to bitch about someone else's shitty opinion.

pretty shitty list IMO (like most lists of this kind), van halen on 53, zakk wylde on 69, tom morello on 96 are just 3 that should've been waaay higher..

bbf shouldn't have been #1 IMO

Slash Slash Slash. If someone can play whole lotta love better than Jimmy page, who would u rather hear play it? the other person or jimmy? Its the same with guns, id prefer to see slash play those songs, just as i like axl singin them.

Did you even watch the videos? Lol. Slash definitely didn't win out. The only thing we are asking is who sounds better.. not who you want to see/hear play.

LOLOL I doubt you even watched them.   I would rather hear the guy who plays it better, and in this case BBF and BH both own.

The real question here is, what about Sylvester Stallone?

Who do you guys think  is the best Sylvester Stallone?

Here's the trailer of original Rambo III, the 80's action movie to end all 80's action movies. Starring Sylvester Stallone.

..and here, we have something called Korkusuz.
Turkish film industry has a habit of copying original Hollywood heroes and making their own stale  copies of them for local market.Low budget stuff. Here is their vision of Rambo.

And finally, here is a clip from XXX, starring Vin Diesel.

Who do you guys think is the  best Sylvester Stallone?
I think turkish rambo ripoff is by far the best Sylvester Stallone!Vin Diesel is ok aswell.
Sylvester Stallone sucks tho. He just isn't Sylvester Stallone enough to pull of something like being Sylvester Stallone.

LMFAO!!
Some people should stop being so blind and obsessed "new GNR" fans. There are thousands of musicians in the world who can play guitar just like Slash or better than him, but nobody'll be more GN'R than anyone of those below:
AXL
SLASH
IZZY
DIZZY
STEVEN (OR EVEN MATT)

PERIOD

YCBM:
1. Slash
2. BH
3. Ron

NR:
1. Ron
2. Slash
3. Buckethead

Nightrain:
1. BH
2. Ron
3. Slash

They're all great. It's a matter of preference, not a matter of fact. I gotta give the overall to Slash since he wrote them, although I know some people don't care who wrote it.
