Here Today... Gone To Hell!

I got a voicemail today from a very excited friend informing that he ran into Duff and Slash walking around Downtown Crossing in Boston around 1pm.  I don't have any details yet but he said he talked to them for 20 minutes and they told him where they were staying !

So I'm jealous...
I'll post an update when I learn some details of the conversation

now why would you go and tell someone that!  :hihi: Although it's probably unlikely a bloke with big hair and a tophat will go un-noticed walking into a hotel.

Damn, I was there today! Didn't see 'em!

Well I finally got in touch w/ my friend and it's sort of anti-climatic honestly... he failed to ask any interesting questions.
Here's how it went down...
My friend is in the carpenter's union (he's a carpenter) and was working in Downtown crossing in the old Paramount theater... turns out Slash and Duff were staying at the hotel right around the corner.  He was outside having a smoke when he saw these two dudes walking down the street... and immediately thought "oh, these guys must be in a band or cover band" but as they got closer he realized that it was Slash and Duff !   
He couldn't believe it at first and didn't say anything as they walked by... he said Slash was a baseball cap on backwards and that Duff was "jacked."
They each had a body guard and there were 2 other guys, who he assumed were just friends. 
He said they weren't getting mobbed or anything like that... they were just casually walking around... eventually they got out of view. 

About 20 minutes later he sees Duff and Slash walking back towards him again... this time with bags in there hands... so he figured they must've bought some stuff somewhere in Downtown.   This time he got up the nerve to approach them and introduce himself... he said they were very friendly and talkative.  They were very interested in what was going on in the old Paramount... Duff mentioned that there used to be an arcade there... which was pretty cool that he was that familiar with place... cuz that was years and years ago.  Slash and Duff asked him a lot of questions about the work he was doing for about 5 mins... at which point Slash left... but Duff hungout with him for about 10 more minutes just shootin' the shit "like a regular guy".  My friend told him how he and his friend (me) were huge fans and they were our idols (or something along those lines) and he said "ah man, that's great... we love to hear that... "  Duff went on to mention that they were playing that night at Avalon... but then suddenly had to leave. 

So that's pretty much it... my friend went to work today but this time brought all the cd inserts for AFD, Lies, Slash's Snakepit, & Duff's solo cd in case he ran in to them again.   

Never in a million years did he ever expect to just run into Slash and Duff on the street... I can only hope that I have similar experience some day !

I just got a call from my friend... he just ran into Duff again !!  Duff signed his cd's and his construction helmet.
He asked if Slash was still around and Duff said "We're all still around... we're going to the Red Sox game !"

Why doesn't this shit happen to me !

It gets better ! 
I work fairly close to there... so I took a walk down there hoping I might run into Duff and that's exactly what happened ! 
I just got back now...
He was in the the Army Navy Store buying some warm clothes for the Red Sox game tonight.... man he's such a cool dude... so easy to talk to... real friendly.
I can't express how psyched I am to have met him  ;D
