Title: Re: What do you think of Bob Geldof ? Post by: stolat on May 12, 2007, 05:39:46 AM Yeh, celebrities are very careful in making sure that their children's photos are not posted all over the Internet. Hence the veils and masks over the heads of Michael Jackson's children.

I was referring to this post about Bono. Title: Re: What do you think of Bob Geldof ? Post by: freedom78 on May 12, 2007, 10:30:31 AM He draws attention to issues that are important and about which he seems genuinely passionate, but he's still a bit goofy, if you ask me.

The surprising thing is few people see it any other way - they need a new PR team! Title: Re: What do you think of Bob Geldof ? Post by: mrlee on May 13, 2007, 07:19:10 AM i think he, like bono uses charity for fame now rather than for the cause, i think they have both been corrupted. Please give examples. easy. for example U2 want to do a new (ands pointless) single. they think "ahh i know, we will get greenday with us to appeal to a different audience too...hmm, ahh thats it, we will add videos to do with the new orleans floods" Everything bono and bob do, they always make it so they get lots of media coverage of themselves and lots of attention, half the time the news headlines arnt even about the problems they claim to be trying to solve, its just something like "bob Geldof to hold charity gig" and they just talk about bob geldof, and his previous live 8's and what a saint he is. And cmon, do you really think people of my generation would have a clue who bob geldof or the boomtown rats were if he hadnt of held live 8? I can guarantee most wouldnt. Title: Re: What do you think of Bob Geldof ? Post by: Jessica on May 13, 2007, 07:39:20 AM i'm 32 soon and i love boomtown rats, it was regularly played on the radio when i was young, i would have known without a live 8.

That video made a good point, and the whole world saw it. It showed the world that the US wastes itself in a pointless war, when things at home ain't that peachy. What's wrong with that? ? I'm not well informed, but I'd like other arguments in favour of Bob Geldorf and Bono's assholeness. Anyone? Title: Re: What do you think of Bob Geldof ?
