Yes, Axl expresses his feelings beautifully.

on the newest version its sounds like he says "so now I wonder through my day (or days?)" instead of "so now I wonder through my haze". I'm not sure though kinda hard to tell.

I believe, 'wander through my days' is correct. At least, that's what it sounds like.
