Huzzah!

I wont let my joy be tempered by the fact he remains in office untill the technicalities are resolved

To the rest of the world moaning about your governments consider ours:

Tony Blair won the last election with only 33% of the votes, and our new leader, Gordon Brown, will be unelected!

Good bye Mr Blair. Thanks for nothing.

And Iraq.

Name 1 bad thing (besides Iraq and the America relationship) that Blair has done.
He has done a far better job as leader than the majority of people before him.
People always find it so easy to criticise him, mainly just coz they think theyll get a cheap laugh out of it and it makes people think that they actually know something about politics. U can tell a large majority of people who slate him read the Daily Mail or some other piece of shit paper like that

Forgive my ignorance , but how long before a vote of confidence on the new guy , and does Britain have a liberal party of any consequence since Labor abrogated that responsibility ?

Brown will try n not have one at all. Don't think ne1's happy about that. It seems highly undemocratic to me

Who hasnt  ??? and his ideals may have changed/adapted over time, as opposed to him losing them. Still dont sound like a bad thing to me

destroyed any sort of socialist ideal within the labour party. there is no credible left wing party in britain thanks to him.

that plus the infiltration of spin doctors into government. the entire process of running the country is so far from the hands of common people its crazy.

Obviously, to give a real oversight on his premiership we'l have to wait a few decades but right now he gets a 5 out of 10 and that is being very generous.

How many Euros do you have to pay for your cup of espresso and your croissant every morning?

Don't worry. You're still living in one of the most backwards countries in Europe.

For good and bad.

What's that supposed to mean?

No matter how much you want to change it, the UK is part of the European Union.

I guess things were better in the Victorian times.  :P

That's how many Poles dies in the second world war. The Polish pilots won the Battle of Britain for the English and yet they weren't allowed to march in the end of war parade - in case the Russians were offended.
The Polish government also had an agreement that they would release the Polish pilots if they were needed in Poland. During the Warsaw Uprising in 1944 (not the Ghetto one) the brave Poles held out the city for 63 days waiting for their pilots to come and drop off more ammo. They didn't. The whole city, bar one avenue, was raised to the ground. 600,000 Poles..........

The Poles had taken back the centre of their city in 3 days! Polish flags were flying after almost 5 years AND Polish radio came back on air!!!

Dude! I clarified what is meant by 600,000 Poles in the thread entitled "Queen Teases Bush Over Date Gaffe". When you read it, you will see that it is NOT racism. ok.  :peace:

None?

How much VAT do i pay on goods i buy? 17.5% :hihi:

what an odd thing to say....

Quote
What's that supposed to mean?

Okay i'll spell it out:

Take one of the most densley populated areas in the world, the south east of England, add 600,000 more people and sit back and watch the problems develop

What the hell are these new arrivals to do for homes? Schools? Jobs?

They are lured here for the crappest jobs going - we're created a slave caste - unable to vote, who no one cares about and who are exploited at every turn

But hey, just call me a rascist for daring to suggest the country has a finite capacity for occupants ::)

You wouldnt fit 200 people in the average mini bus would ya? But when its an over crowded country - hell thats fine!

Quote
No matter how much you want to change it, the UK is part of the European Union.

Just because you have limited knowledge of politics dont assume thats the case with everyone else

The European Union does so much good that its such a terrible shame when its allowed to take on a mind of its own. Unelected commitees coming up with just bizarre new rules damages everything thats been created

Ya know it is possible to be a staunch supporter ofthe EU AND to unhappy with how its being abused

I'd be first in line to sign up for Euro if it worked - but as it doesnt work, how is it being ''anti-European'' to be against it?

Quote
I guess things were better in the Victorian times.? :P

I guess?

I should also mention something else about the 600,000 Pole thing. When you read the thread about the "Queen teasing Bush about the Date Gaffe". This uprising that I refer to in 1945 - Greeks, Spanards, Italians and Jews fought alongside the Poles..... :peace:

Izzy, people moving to start a new life for themselves isn't exactly an UK specific problem is it?

How about all those people who moved to England from different parts of the world (outside the EU)?

You don't want people to move to your country, fine. That's your opinion.

This reminds me of a prank call on the radio. At the time of the EU referendum here, a guy calls the EU information center and asks if it's true that 10000 German gay men are gonna move to Sweden if Sweden votes "yes"....... The woman says you can't specify it like that, it can be 100 or 100000..... "So you're saying 100000 gay Germans are gonna move to Sweden?"  :hihi:

Really? I had no idea

...relevance?

Quote
How about all those people who moved to England from different parts of the world (outside the EU)?

What do you think?

...why is it to foreign commentators England is the UK and the UK is England? Why did you say England instead of 'the UK'?

Has Alex Salmond got to you too?

The UK cant support the original population (go google UK house prices) - so adding more people is just going to be a problem

Is that really such a difficult concept? Is that really anything more than a bit of common sense? How is that even an ''opinion''?

Quote
You don't want people to move to your country, fine. That's your opinion.

What part of ''sustainable migration' is confusing you?

People are welcome to move here from within the EU, its about sensible levels

Does the movement of 600,000 Poles to the UK seem sensible to you?

...i'll ask you again - where are these people supposed to live, work? Have schools starting growing out of the ground? If this is sensible migration - then maybe you can let me know how you deal with those kind of logistics?

Since you mentioned the South East, I figured you meant England. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Scotland isn't in the South East corner of the UK.

How do you solve the problem? I don't know.

But I don't think your solution is perfect either.

House prices increase all over the place. So I guess since house prices in sunny areas of Spain increase because foreigners buy them, your countrymen shouldn't be allowed to buy property there? Is that the solution?
