I really don't know what people were expecting of St. Anger, but there are some killer Metallica songs on there - Frantic, St Anger, Some Kind Of Monster, Unnamed Feeling etc. : ok:

Frantic and St. Anger are ok, but the rest of it i dont like very much. the songs arent THAT bad, they just get really reduntant and grating, especially since there are no guitar solos. the songs just drag on and on.

As far as Metallica albums go I think Load has to be considered the "worst" album with in reason.

I still think the worst album by a legendary band has yet to hit us....

i'm gonna have to say "Music from ' The Elder'" by KISS deffinatly not there finest hour :no:

St. Anger is just wrong on so many levels. It's insulting as a fan. I lost alot of love for them with that release.

i will always respect them for the masterpieces that are Master of Puppets, Ride The Lightning, and more or less ...And Justice For All. (Kill 'Em All is fun and solid but not a masterpiece IMO)

and i have a good feeling about this new record. if rick rubin can't save them, no one can!

Not their best album but I like the Elder.

Before I opened this page I knew it was gunna be a St Anger thread. But I love the album.

LOVE that album!

i like it to man, but it sucked compared to the rest of there albums at the time. The one song on "The Elder" i like is "world without heros" it almost brings a tear to ones eye when listening :'( :peace:

I thought LA Guns' "American Hardcore" was a waste of time , even though
they are not a huge group , that album totally sucked.

I think its even worse than the dreadful St Anger - 9 min songs that all sound the same, with no bass...hell i cant tell when one song ends and the next one begins

...And Justice For All worse than St. Anger? thats the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard. Blackened, Eye of The Beholder, and the title track have some of the coolest riffs i've ever heard from Metallica. Not to mention it has the song "one" which is the first Metallica song i ever heard and got me into them. Also, the instrumental "To Live Is To Die" that was written to honor Cliff Burton is also great.

sure the production sucks but that doesnt make it a bad record.

St. Anger is def. the worst from Metallica. i tried to like it, i really did. but the drums give me a headache and the songs just go on and on.

Van Halen 3 was really bad-none of it Cherone's fault actually, but musically and production was horrible

St. Anger sucked, it was too raw, and no Kirt solos...

Def Lep album was good I thought.

Not to be redundant, but Metallica's massive mistake "St. Anger" is simply the worst album I can think of by a great band (or any well known band for that matter).

Hell no! Razor's Edge rocks! If I had to pick AC/DC's 'worst' album, it would probably be Fly On The Wall, even though it has some good stuff on it. I've never really got into Powerage either.

Agreed. The Razor's Edge is for me, along with with Back In Black, the best two AC/DC albums

also Marilyn Manson's The Golden Age of Grotesque is pretty bad by his standards. i'd say that was the worst album hes put out as well.

Moneytalks is by far the worst AC/DC song ever - it's totally horrible. Fire Your Guns is pretty bad too.

Powerage is awesome, probably their best album.

You cannot be serious, man  :no:  The Beekeeper is a great album, but she should have narrowed it to 14 tracks instead of 18, so the 4 obvious (and weak) fillers wouldn't be on the record.

All down to personal opinion, but I thought The Razor's Edge was a return to form after some pretty ordinary AC/DC albums. I think Moneytalks is a pretty cool song too.

Well no, not actually. The album was very well tuned I thought. It's My Life peaked at #33, Thank You For Loving Me peaked at #54 I believe. So it had 2 strong singles. Mystery Train, ONe Wild Night, and Two Story Town are all good solid songs. That album had about 7 great songs, the rest filler... so I wouldn't say that. Their worst album IMO would have to be the debut and I like that one.

I don't understand the hate for Metallica. St. Anger BLOWS, I will give you that. But Load and ReLoad are solid, and the Black Album and AJFA are classics.

TOOL is a GREAT band, except for their first four albums and the ep they did.

It's true the albums weren't as great as the older ones.. But there were some really good albums after 1982, with some songs I consider classics, such as out of Control, Saint of Me, Thru and Thru, Almost Hear You Sigh, Back of My Hand, Laugh I nearly Died, Slipping Away etc

Powerage is classic!

Down Payment Blues is my favourite song by them ever. There isn't a weak song or even an average song on that album, it totally rules from start to finish.
