COURTNEY LOVE PLANS TO AUCTION BELONGINGS OF COBAIN

Courtney Love, widow of Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain, says she plans to sell most of his belongings.

"I'm going to have a Christie's auction," Love, 42, tells AOL music Web site Spinner.com. "(My house) is like a mausoleum."

Love and Cobain wed in 1992 and had a daughter, Frances Bean, that year. Cobain committed suicide in 1994.

"My daughter doesn't need to inherit a giant fucking bag full of flannel fucking shirts," says Love, former frontwoman of the rock band Hole. "A sweater, a guitar and the lyrics to '(Smells Like) Teen Spirit' - that's what my daughter gets. And the rest of it we'll just fucking sell."

No date has been set for the auction, AOL publicist Kurt Patat told The Associated Press on Monday.

I think she is doing the right thing, sure she is going to make a ton of cash but they are also going to donate some to charity ...seriously, if he wasn't famous, how many people hold onto to clothes etc of their deceased loved ones for over 10 years? It is time she cleaned out the closets and moved on, if anything then for her daughters sake IMO.

Tell me....if your loved one died, would you still keep all of their stuff such as shirts etc?  Or would people start questioning your ability to 'move on' and stop grieving?  Nothing bad in getting rid of the stuff, maybe a bit callous in making a quick buck out of it but shit, she's been doing that since 1992.
