Title: In the booklets....did you notice?
Post by: Naltav on April 27, 2007, 03:55:13 PM
In the Appetite-booklet (in the end..) it says: "With Your Bitch Slap Rappin', And Your Cocaine Tongue.."

And in the UYI-booklet (in the end..) it says: "Ain't It Fun"

"You Could Be Mine" was the first single from YUI, and "Aint't It Fun" was the first single from Spaghetti...

Anyone know if there was a thought behind this, or.....?  ???

Serious comments appriciated....  ;)

I thought it had been determined at one point that it isn't a coincidence.

I just ran into my SI booklet the other day while cleaning out my basement.  I spent a good five minutes leafing through it trying to find a clue.

Maybe that's why we don't have Chinese Democracy yet.

yeah. they have had the album ready for 10 years now...
they just dont know what the 1st single is.
axl forgot what the 1st single should be,...
and they hid the clue to well in the booklet, that even they cant find it.

"Do yourself a favor, find the originals"

Meaning "Don't get hung up on New GNR, the old GNR is all that will matter in the long run"

Thats the TSI hint.....

You Could Be Mine was written before Appetite was released.

Yeah, I know.

But it seems like there's been a plan all along. This is gonne be the first single of the next record and so on. But I've never heard it been discussed/talk about by the bandmembers in interviews etc etc....

Has this been discussed on this forum before, since it was moved to Dead Horse?

"Guns N' Roses would finally like to thank the world except for the assholes"

This is clearly a line from a single.

i think its got to be a coincidence or maybe after putting the words in the book he thought it good to put it in a song?

As far as I know, You Could Be Mine was written around the same time as many Appetite tracks.

Which is presumably why Axl chose to re-record YCBM for the 2001 Re-Recording of Appetite? Right?

This is purely speculation on my part of course  :)

From gnrsource.com:
"Slash: When we were at SRS Studios doing pre-productions for Appetite. That was one of the songs that were gonna be on the Appetite. We hadn't really finished it in time to put it on album so we sat it on backburner until we did Use Your Illusion."

So yeah it was written during the Appetite sessions. I'd like to hear Adlers version of the intro..
