I think the story should be like Citizen Kane, with Axl being played at different stages in his life.? It starts with his death, and then flashes back to different periods in his life as all the people he's alienated over the years remember their time together.? Slash would be his Jed Leland.? Pitman would be his Bernstein.? Merck would be his Thatcher. Erin Everly would be his Emily.? Stephanie Seymour would be his Susan. It would be the most epic movie ever made. Dorff's getting up there in age to play young Axl, but their resemblences are uncanny and I think Dorff is an underrated actor who would pull it off well. Someone mentioned Eddie Furlong and I actually don't think that's a bad idea. As far as him playing the role, I have no doubt he could do it (or perhaps could have). I'm a fan of Furlong's, I think his own demons sidetracked any major carreer he might have had, and at this stage he's gained just a bit too much weight and other physical things to pull it off.
