Title: The Perfect Guns Show...
Post by: SirTed on April 27, 2007, 12:16:31 PM
I'm sure this is a topic people have covered in the past, but I'm new, so I don't know any better. My question to any and all of you is this: If you could put together an ultimate  record of individual songs recorded at different places and times, what would it look like? Please include covers that they might have played as well. Just in case I'm being unclear, for example, which is in your opinion the best version of Nighttrain that you've heard, from which show?

"Nightrain" from Rock Am Ring 2006 would be my choice....killer vocals/perfect sound and actually a great Ron solo

Chinese Democracy @ Pittsburgh 2002 - Mellon Arena

Sweet Child O' Mine @ POPB - Paris, France

IRS @ Rock Am Ring 2007 - Germany

Madagascar @ KROQ Inland Invasion

It's So Easy @ Roskilde

Except for SCOM, you have SBD recordings of all of them  : ok:

Those are all really recent shows, do you perfer the new guns?
It's a mix of both for me.
I wish that the new band would play some of the songs the old ways, I miss Mother at the begining of Paradise, Only women bleed at the begining of Knocking on Heavens Door. that kind of stuff. But I do enjoy the Beautiful solos with Robin and Richard. And I like Dizzy new piano stuff. I'd love to hear them do Dust in the Wind on the new tour.

honestly, I do not see Guns N' Roses as two or more different bands. I did not chose those performances because they are recent, I simply think that those are the best versions available.

There are no new guns and old guns for me. There is Guns N' Roses and that's it. If you want to pick some cool performances from 1986-1993, give me a shout!  : ok:

best musically/instrumental performance of nightrain IMO was with buckethead, the solo he did in it was beyond this world.. shame axl didn't have his top voice during the buckethead era..

offtopic.. just thinking about that makes me think of the ultimate line-up for playing nightrain would be axl-AFD/UYI eras, izzy or fortus at rythm, adler king of cowbell on drums, duff or tommy for bass and buckethead on lead guitar, woah what a song that would have been.. that would be a cool new thread.. thinking about creating one for "the utlimate line-up for each song" :hihi:
