Here Today... Gone To Hell!

Do you guys think it is bad to drink alone? Some of my friends think I'm an alcoholic or feel bad for me when I drink alone. Now, yes, I'm aware that I sometimes drink alone, but I also drink socially...way more than I do alone.

Also, I don't drink alone EVERYDAY. And when I do, I drink craft beer (in fact, I homebrew)...so it's not like I'm your typical drunk drinking Bud every night.

So what is your take on drinking alone. Is it bad that I do it. I really enjoy it by the way (not being alone, but drinking).

I drink alone more than I drink socially. It clears my head after a hard day's work and helps me organize my thoughts. I don't see anything wrong with it. My friends do think it is weird, but I don't give a fuck.

.after a hard day it just is better to sit back alone with a cold beer or some Jack and coke.SO for the most part I don't think it's bad to drink alone.

Yeah, I do it too, nothing beats after a hard day work to sit back and have a cold beer.

If I'm stressed out it beats drinking with people any time.

This is probably the worst board to ask such a question. Unless you wanted to hear "No" in which case, this is the perfect board for you.

^^are you saying most GNR fans are drunks?  Or are the type of people to drink alone?

I also asked the Pearl Jam forum, and I can tell you for a FACT that the PJ fans are not like GNR fans.  Most of them are white collared liberals, whereas I believe GNR fans tend to be the opposite.

because beer is soooo good; especially quality beer.  If some of you ppl like beer, I suggest taking up homebrewing.  It's a fun, cheap way to drink GOOD beer.

plus you'll always have beer on tap to drink alone.  ;)

I also don't see a problem there. I use to drink a beer or wine in the evening when I relax, sitting down, reading a book. That doesn't make you an alcoholic.

It's something different if you can't relax without alcohol. Then I guess you have a serious problem. If that's not the case - then nothing to worry about.

I don't like people, in general, so I started drinking alone in my teens. People used to give me a hard time about it then, but now, it seems like I was on to something then. I like people even less now, and when I drink by myself I can tell myself this all I want.

i'm only 16 (soon 2 b 17 :hihi:) but i'm sure that in 10 years i'll be drinking alone too :beer:

I drink alone on occasion too.

It tends to be rather lonely, but no more than getting high alone :(

I don't see that there's a problem unless alcohol cotrols the one drinking and not the other way around, for an example if you got your fridge full of beer you'll have to drink a lot even if you got to go to work the next day.

I dont know, I mean, I cant imagine myself drinking alone... but if you do it alone or with friends it doesnt matter: what really matters is how often you do it, what you drink, and how much you drink.

I think that some Jack Daniels after a very long day of work, or after spending several hours studying or something like that is not only not bad: I would also reccomend it.

But if drinking alone turns to you into a physical need, if you cant go to sleep without drinking something, or if you spend all your day imagining and waiting for that drink, then it could be very dangerous.

Where's the fun in that? Surely, the moment that you decide to ingest a consciousness-altering substance for shits and giggles the whole concept of responsibility has left the building? In which case you might as well try to set some records.

I drink alone sometimes... When I have work to get done around the hous i'll have a few... Like others said, after a hard days work...

if you drink alone to get drunk, then you may have a problem, especially if you do it alot

but if you drink alone, and not get wasted, then no. it's alright to have a few

Drink when you want. Everybody has their own standards of what is acceptable or not, you know yourself best.

I don't drink. I don't have anything against alcohol, I'm just not interested in it anymore - largely because I was an absolute fiend when I was younger, putting away a liter of cheap vodka every night. I was never a social drinker though, I don't see the point of drinking just enough to make the people around you a little more interesting.

Because some people enjoy the taste some alcoholic beverages.

Maybe some people don't want to do stupid shit because they got too drunk, and then feel like they want to die because of a horrid hangover the next day.

you know i never had a problem drinking alone.in fact i like it most.but never get the  chance to be alone anymore.so yes i do like drinking alone and think it is no problem.unless you are doing it to escape problems,then maybe it could be bad.but for fun why not,surely.

I like to drink alone after dogwatch. My mates think I'm a drunk coz i finish work at 8am and start drinkin at bout 8.30 or 9am. But apart from that I dont normally drink alone.

yeah but lonelyness can be so interesting.cause im going to get it alot now.till i buy my doberman puppy.it won't replace my b/f but it will be my whole life training this dog.it is going to be the best trained dog ive ever seen.and by the way i didn't name the flip-flops.it was on them allready.i didn't notice till i got home that it said dizzy.to get things straight.

all i can say is that i have a vodka next to me and i dont think i'll save it for a very long time..

i drank by myself last night out on my deck.for the first time had a blast.even got some blunts in but only got real tierd and sacked out after too many blunts lol.so that ended the fun drinking for sleep lol.

The few times i've gotten drunk by myself I found certain shows (The Andy Grifith Show) to be extremely entertaning for some reason.

Other than that I prefer not to drink alone.

i cant say i find that show funny when im drunk...but i remember me and my friend got stoned and watched the andy griffith show, we couldnt stop laughing at the shit Otis, the town drunk, and don knotts were saying

I hardly watch any telly if i hit the piss by myself. But sometimes I find myself watching either Alice Cooper, Metallica or Guns N' Roses live DVD's. I like to sit out the back with my can of bourbon and smoke a bunch of cigs.
