Title: Buckethead influence on Better
Post by: redx on April 14, 2007, 02:21:55 PM
If your lucky enough to own Buckheads 'In Search Of The' 13 disc music collection, you'll have heard one cool track that also contains something similar to the 'bubbles rising sound' that features on Gn'R track 'Better'.

Here's a link to a short audio click comparing the two:
http://www.sharebigfile.com/file/143051/guns-buckethead-mp3.html

It's funny, as during the bubble rising sound, Axl does a small robot impression during live gigs.
I feel Axl has been heavliy influenced by Buckethead.
I hope the Bumble Foot hasn't replaced all of Bucket's input into CD  :peace:

(audio plays in Winamp only)

If you own pretty much any BH cd you've heard that sound before.

Is a shame that Buckethead don't be in the band anymore but...the image of Buckethead didn't helped the band so...i don't know...musically is a shame but in look and image is not a shame...

The look of Gn'R has moved away from the former Gn'R look anyway.

Sure Buckethead was the most different looking, but not the he has left, Chris Pitman has kinda filled Bucketheads boots in the image stakes  :peace:

The guitar riff after the "bubble sounds" always reminded me of the music on the video game Pole Position...or some video game.

The influence of Buckethead is GREAT.  NO ONE can match his guitar solo before the "bubble" sound, its the best part of the song.  Long live BUCKETHEAD.

The Bubbly sounds are Pitman. You can tell the difference.

Yep, BH's work will be missed.

Yeah, those sound virtually nothing alike.  Thanks.

to me the sounds use the same principle.
Prior to Buckethead being involved with Gn'R, can you re-call any Gn'R tracks that used these kind of sounds? - Me neither.

Prior to Pitman (and no I am not aligned with EMS).

Buckethead influences can be noticed heavily in at least 3 of the 5 leaked tracks: IRS, Better and TWAT.

I love the ''bubbles sound'', and you can hear stuff like that in lots of BH albums, not only in the 13cd-album ''In the Search of The''.

This dude is a genius, a brilliant musician, and probably one the best alive guitarists on earth. I love tha bumble, but I think Buckethead is in a higher level, a different league.

COMPLETELY AGREE!!  His work and live performances with bald Finck WILL be missed.  Love the new lineup, but Buckethead is in a COMPLETELY different league then any other current GN'R guitarist.

Sounds like keyboards. Couldn't have anything to do with Bucket then, he doesn't play the. . . oh, wait.

I mean don't get me wrong on this thread, Bumblefoot is a GREAT guitarist and even better guy overall-but Buckethead takes the cake with his playing and stage presence.  Everytime I see a Buckethead thread come up it saddens me!  I'll always continue to support the new group, and I'm hoping Bumblefoot and Frank's contributions will stand out once this thing is released.....

::)  Yeah, rumor has it all the robot sounds have been replaced with bumble bee buzzes.  Axl does his best impression of the bumble bee girl from Blind Melon's famous video with the little girl bumble bee.  He will also add a Spanish accent and do the Bumble Bee Man from The Simpsons saying, "Hay de Mi!!!" as he slaps his forehead to start off IRS.   ::)

when it comes to this song, I'm most interested in knowing who came up with the power chords in the bridge. That's the hook of the song, to me.

I actually think Bucket's solo on Better is kind of ho-hum, and I'm a bucketbot.

I hate all that terminology used in the Buckethead forum

I hate also when the board modifies automatically the name Paul Gilbert

read this buckethead board: I think Paul Gilbert is Buckethead :hihi:

And I dont have a girlbot, I have a girlfriend

Bucketbot is not a term coined at that forum. It's in Bucket's Bucketheadland CD.

Hell, I never noticed you there anyway. Guess I didn't miss much, eh?

Probably not, I mean, Im a fan of Buckethead music, not of all that freaky paraphernalia that surrounds him...

I dont need the circus around buckethead, Im only interested in his music.
