Now that GNR can't play their Japanese shows, does anyone know if Hookers & Blow might do another farewell show with Dizzy Reed?  I had a good time seeing the first farewell, but missed the second one because I didn't want to drive to Tarzana.

There's no cancelled date. japanese dates are postponed until sometime after july.

And they are playing in sa at the end of this month. just a couple of weeks.

Dizzy has a tendancy to book a gig if he has a few HOURS off, nevermind a few weeks  :hihi:

Please, change the title. The Japan shows are really not cancelled at this point and this can be very misleading......

Judging by the remaining HNB dates for April, it does not look like Dizzy can make it to any of them:

Maybe some time in May if Guns do not book new dates then....I wouldn't count on it though.

And yes, HNB shows are so much fun. I'd rather go to an HNB show than to a VR show.... :hihi:

First of all we all know these dates are most likely cancelled given GNR's recent track history regarding rescheduling shows.

Secondly - you should show some more respect for Slash and Duff.  Without them there would be no GNR.

No, these dates are NOT cancelled. Did you read the statement? There are negotiations going on with the promoters for recheduling in July or after. Guns want to play Japan this year and they will do it. This is pretty clear.

I am not dissing Slash or Duff here. Just expressed my preference as to which band I'd rather see.
Why would I not choose an HNB show over a VR one? I mean the HNB show is almost 10 times cheaper, just as long setlist, all of the songs they do I like better than any VR songs, the environment is alot more intimate.....And finally, it is alot of fun to hang out with these guys. I am sorry but I've never heard of Duff or Slash hanging out with fans before or after a show....Maybe they can learn a lesson or two from Dizzy or Ron here.

Guns N' Roses have existed since 1997 without either of them - even though they have not released anything, either Slash of Duff once said even if they were still in the band, they'd still be working on Chinese Democracy, so you can't give me the retort of "Oh but with the old guys we'd have an album or three already." Sure, they were the two most important members of the group, but they're gone; time to move on. Guns stills exists, and Slash and Duff aren't in or involved with the band anymore. Piff and twaddle to you, sir.

I think that the most fitting resolution to Pitmania would be that the final mixes chosen for CD lean far away from Pitman's contributions. It's the only way to keep the "You'll see! You'll all see!" movement alive.

I fail to see how this has anything to do with Chris Pitman, if you want to start yet another thread on how much of a contribution he'll have on the record, go to dead horse.  If you just want to insult him, take it somewhere else.

If you want to piss off mothergooseluvr, find a more interesting way to do it that hasn't been done before and will amuse me and everyone else.

I've seen Hookers & Blow twice.? I had a lot of fun both times.? Duda especially seems to enjoy rocking out.? Alex Grossi gave me one of his sweet personalized guitar picks, which I rocked out with so hard that I wore it down to a nub.? They're all nice guys who really seem to enjoy playing rock music.? They've seen and done it all, playing with awesome bands and living sweet-ass lifes.?

Plus, they play some rockin' GNR covers.? Sure they're not the real guys, but they play the songs with a lot of energy, and bring with them all the history of their past bands.

Plus bar shows beat stadium shows any ole' day of the week.? The chicks are hotter, the booze is closer, and since the venues are smaller, you get all that hard rock right up in your face.

Rock on, Hookers N' Blow.? You're sweet dudes.? I'm glad I bought you a round of Jagers at the Cat Club, even if it meant I couldn't afford the cab ride home.

So go see Hookers & Blow.  If you like cool rock bands, then I doubt you can find a better evening of entertainment for fifteen bucks.

We're not trying to be the "real" guys...it's a cover band..but thx for the shots!!!

And yes, I go to HNB shows when GN'R is not touring.....Normally HNB has shows with Dizzy when GN'R is not touring....And it is with Dizzy when they do those Illusions songs that GN'R is not doing any more and that I miss..

H&B is a fun cover band featuring a bunch of cool dudes who've played with some awesome bands over the years.? They rock through some classics and just have fun.? For a few bucks, you get a whole night of great songs and great energy.?

These shows sound fun for sure.  Is that the Bobbi Brown from the Cherry Pie video?  Also, what is her role in the  event for those that have seen the show?

Ive gone to 5 Hooker and blow shows since 2003.. always had a great time.. sux that the last one I was at was in a damn snow storm!. back in FEB on LI!
