Here Today... Gone To Hell!

Last Friday night (Jan.26th) on Alice Cooper's radio show he played "Patience" and made a few comments:


"Patience is a virtue needed if you're a Guns N' Roses fan."


"Axl's Chinese Democracy will be coming out, the day after you die."


"The U.S. government should buy the album outright and then give every person a copy. Maybe distribute with the next issue of the Yellow Pages."

Than he mentioned that last week he was talking with Steven Tyler about the CD coming out and that they were sorta like "geez that's an expensive album etc."? It sounded like with both of them being lead singers they didn't envy the position the Axl has put himself in and they couldn't fathom an album taking that long to make.

Alice was quite empathetic for Axl and said that he hopes the album is incredible and just blows everyone away.

alice and tyler have that strange way of talking, where they have class in there voice...but not posh and sbubby, they know  where they come from.

Alice has mentioned on his show before that he respects Axl and hopes the new band does well. He's also stated that he would love to have Axl on his show.

I think alot of people would love to have Axl on there show to clarify some things...

Alice is a good guy giving free advertisement like that......or do you think he was paid and that was part of the publicity? just something else to think about

I just love the idea of Alice Cooper and Steven Tyler sitting around talking about Chinese Democracy.

There aren't a lot of rock stars in the world, but that's two of them talking about a third.

If you don't listen to Alice's show, that might sound a little negative, but it's just his sense of humor.  BTW, it's a great radio show...beats the hell outta most local DJs and their worthless commentary.

I love The Garden.

I've been listening to some of his MP3 interviews he has on his site and there's few GNR mentions, especially in the interview with Joe Perry. 

Promotion appears to be coming from everywhere..just not the Gn'R camp.. :-\

I think Alice follows GNR pretty closely. I remember a couple months ago he played 2 GNR songs in a row, the last being Rocket Queen, and he said he was playing it to let Axl know he still loves him.

The music before Alice goes on stage is awesome. When I saw him live ISE and YCBM were both played before the show. It was unreal. So I to think Alice is a Big fan of GN'R

Cooper is a class act. I've heard him mention Axl and Guns on quite a few occasions. I hope Axl does his show in the future.

Once when I was listening, right before he played a GNR track, he said something about being on their first tour, and then said "But do they ever call?  NO!"  It was pretty funny.

So I was listening to Alice Cooper's breakfast show on Planet Rock this morning, he played WTTJ, and afterwards here's what he had to say about Chinese Democracy (I apologise if I have misquoted)

Chinese Democracy...better than Sgt Pepper...bigger than the ten commandments....more spectacular than gone with the wind....and it isn't even half done!!!  :rofl:

i met alice and we actually talked for a while and axl did come up. I complimented him on the Garden and he said he has "so much respect for Axl". so this is not at all a bashing comment. it's rather funny. i talked to him on a personal level and Alice is probably one of the nicest "celebrities" or whatever you wanna call them, I have ever spoken to. He had no issues answering questions. Funny thing is how I met him but that's a retarted and pointless story for this thread.

Alice is a good guy...He seems very generous...Would be awsome to see him joing GNR for one of there shows in Europe and play The Garden..one time only...thatd  be a treat

Alice started the whole shock rock thing and was the first person to wear makeup like that and scare parents. The man is a legend. hes influenced everyone from Kiss to marilyn manson.

Love 'The Garden' tho, just listened to it this morning as well. Alice was huge in the 70's & 80's though, famous & rich for alot more than poison

Why should Axl Listen to those 2 guys (Tyler and Alice).  They haven't done or attempted what Axl's done or tried.  How can they determine when its time to release an albumn?  Only Axl truely knows when its time to release his albumn.  Maybe they should switch their band members entirely,  and wait 13 years before they maybe release  an albumn (before they talk)

That was their point... they were saying that what Axl is trying to do is harder and more pressure than they'd want! They were sympathizing with him. Both of those guys are legends who have done a lot, AND both of them have been friends and fans to GNR.

Alice routinely switches band members. Alice Cooper started out as the name of the group, before Alice was left as a solo act. He now hires a band for himself and hits the road.

Alice is awesome.

Daniel Zugna of Australia's Undercover News reports that AEROSMITH frontman Steve Tyler has discussed the crippling affliction known as Lead Singer's Disorder.

Lead Singer's Disorder, or LSD, is the result of disproportionate attention placed on the lead singer in a rock band. Speaking to Mojo magazine, Tyler explained his ongoing battle with the condition, and how it has affected his relationship with AEROSMITH bassist Tom Hamilton.

"You know, I go out into the street and everyone comes over and asks me for my autograph, but they don't go over to Tom," Tyler said. "And his wife hates me (for it). What the f**k's up with that? It's not my fault. I've got lead singer's disorder ? LSD as Jimmy Page puts it."

It would seem that another symptom of LSD is the obligation to criticize fellow LSD sufferers, with Tyler singling out OASIS frontman Liam Gallagher for what he perceives as onstage apathy. He criticized Gallagher for looking consistently bored whilst performing, adding, "When he gets home he doesn't continue to kick the imaginary wires on the floor, does he?"
